Description

Summary

Had a great flight and loved our Scootees’ warm interaction? That’s what we hope to achieve as we support cabin crew operations, enabling our Scootees to deliver safe and exceptional inflight experiences for our passengers 🥰

As Assistant Manager (Training Standards), you’ll partner the Training Section Manager to ensure our cabin crew stay competent, consistent, and confident on the line—through robust performance checks, sharp insights, and targeted interventions. You’ll lead the Training Standards Specialist (TSS) team, close performance gaps using data and feedback, and shape development pathways that strengthen our leadership pipeline. If you’re energised by quality, coaching, and raising the bar at scale, we’d love to meet you.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1) Team Leadership & Training Standards Governance

  • Lead, guide, and develop the Training Standards Specialist (TSS) team through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, high standards, and strong team collaboration within Training Standards.

  • Oversee the quality, consistency, integrity, confidentiality, and fairness of performance checks and assessments.

  • Ensure performance checks are completed for the entire cabin crew cohort at least once per year, prioritising based on operational risk/need (e.g., probationary ranking crew, low-performing crew).

  • Ensure assessment documentation and reporting meet organisational and industry standards, including identifying needs for system/process support.

  • Review, approve, and elevate performance check reports with clear, actionable insights and recommendations.

2) Performance Check Quality, Audit & Reporting Cadence

  • Conduct regular governance routines (e.g., monthly alignment meetings) to ensure clarity in processes and deliverables.

  • Perform annual inflight audits of TSS performance checks on ranking crew and submit audit outputs within agreed timelines.

  • Track and analyse performance check completion rates every four (4) months to balance operational needs against team resources.

  • Monitor timeliness and quality of deliverables, driving corrective actions where standards are not met.

  • Prepare and deliver structured updates on training standards effectiveness for leadership stakeholders.

3) Gap Identification & Targeted Intervention Design

  • Analyse training evaluations, customer service feedback, and crew performance data to proactively identify competency gaps and performance inconsistencies.

  • Perform root-cause analysis and translate findings into clear corrective action plans with measurable outcomes.

  • Design and implement targeted interventions (e.g., refresher training, coaching, process improvements) aligned with operational requirements and industry best practices.

  • Partner business units (e.g., Operations, HR, Safety, IPPC) to ensure training updates are relevant, practical, and adopted effectively.

  • Monitor intervention outcomes and refine solutions based on feedback and performance impact.

4) Stakeholder Collaboration & Standards Communication

  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders on training standards, feedback themes, and performance improvement opportunities.

  • Build effective working relationships with crew, customer-facing teams, and operational stakeholders to speed up issue resolution and alignment.

  • Lead the development and delivery of periodic reports and presentations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights.

  • Liaise with external bodies/regulatory agencies where required to stay current on compliance requirements, industry trends, and best practices.

  • Ensure training standards and changes are communicated clearly and consistently to drive understanding and adherence.

5) Crew Development & Leadership Pipeline Readiness

  • Collaborate with Crew Performance & Development (CPE) and HR to identify high-performing crew using data, behavioural indicators, and competency readiness signals.

  • Support structured assessments and standards-based reviews to evaluate leadership readiness objectively and consistently.

  • Ensure leadership development modules and ranking crew development activities align with organisational leadership expectations.

  • Contribute to building a healthy leadership pipeline that supports operational resilience and sustainable growth.

6) Additional Support & Ad-hoc Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment activities, assessment centres, and departmental/company events to ensure smooth execution.

  • Participate in CSDM and other cross-functional initiatives as required.

  • Manage ad-hoc requests with responsiveness, quality execution, and strong stakeholder communication.

Key Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Training & Development, Education, HR, Business, Aviation or equivalent practical experience).

  • Experience in cabin crew training/standards, quality assurance, competency assessment, or operational performance management.

  • People leadership experience (directly leading a team or acting as a lead with coaching/oversight responsibilities).

  • Strong analytical skills—able to interpret performance data, feedback trends, and evaluation results to drive decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills with confidence to engage stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.

  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive performance information, with a strong commitment to fairness and confidentiality.

  • Strong planning and execution skills to deliver recurring cadences (monthly/quarterly/annual) with tight timelines.

Preferred

  • Background in airline cabin operations and familiarity with performance check frameworks, audit practices, or competency-based assessment.

  • Experience designing and implementing targeted learning interventions (training refreshers, coaching guides, process changes).

  • Exposure to regulatory/compliance environments and industry standards relevant to cabin crew operations.

  • Strong presentation skills and experience preparing leadership-ready reports with actionable insights.

  • Experience supporting leadership pipeline initiatives (talent identification, readiness reviews, development pathways).
