Description
Are you passionate about helping people live their healthiest lives? Do you thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment where your contributions truly matter? If so, Medcan is the place for you!
This job is for a current vacancy.
The Role:
Medcan is a global leader in proactive and primary care, helping clients live their longest, healthiest, most vibrant lives. Our Membership business - spanning Year-Round Care (YRC), Dedicated Care (DC), and M Care - is a high-growth subscription portfolio at the core of what makes Medcan distinct.
We are looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager, Memberships to own the P&L performance and client experience strategy for this portfolio. This is not a coordination role. This is a role for someone who sees a growth target and builds the plan to hit it: someone who interrogates data, spots the levers, and rallies the people to move.
You will report directly to the VP, Memberships & Market Expansion and operate as the strategic engine behind membership revenue, retention, engagement, and pricing across B2C, B2B, and B2B2C channels.
What You'll Do:
Revenue Planning and Growth Strategy
- Own the membership revenue plan: analyze performance trends across tiers, segments, and cohorts to identify growth opportunities and diagnose risks early.
- Build and maintain a clear view of the revenue bridge: model new sales, retention, pricing, and mix - and develop prioritized initiatives to close gaps against targets.
- Translate analysis into structured business cases and investment decisions: frame the opportunity, size the impact, identify the resources required, and make it easy for stakeholders and leadership to act.
- Surface channel-specific opportunities: across B2C, employer-funded (B2B), and B2B2C segments; align and mobilize sales, marketing, and account management teams through coordinated plans around high-impact tactics.
- Partner with Operations and FP&A: ensure the resource plan and financial model reflect budget/forecast assumptions enable client obsession and profitable growth.
Product Strategy and Portfolio Stewardship
- Own the membership product strategy: define and maintain a clear value proposition for each tier grounded in client insight and differentiated in the market.
- Keep the portfolio competitive and fresh: maintain an active view of direct competitors and aspirational global benchmarks; regularly assess value and differentiation for each tier; recommend and prioritize evolution where warranted.
- Drive the product roadmap: translate strategy into a prioritized set of enhancements, innovations, and partnership opportunities, balancing client value, commercial impact, and operational feasibility.
- Lead the membership narrative: work with marketing and sales to ensure the membership story is told consistently and compellingly across every channel and touchpoint.
- Align stakeholders on priorities: bring together clinical, operations, marketing, and sales teams to sequence trade-offs and drive go-to-market execution on new and enhanced offerings.
Client Engagement and Retention
- Deeply understand moments that matter to drive client satisfaction: leverage utilization data, CSAT, cohort trends, and qualitative feedback to build a current and actionable picture of where members are engaged or at risk.
- Design a cohesive client journey: in partnership with clinical / innovation, operations, retention, and marketing teams, map and continuously improve the end-to-end member experience - from onboarding through to long-term engagement - so that every touchpoint reinforces the value of membership.
- Represent the client's voice: bring member insight into cross-functional forums and ensure commercial and product decisions are grounded in a genuine understanding of what clients value.
Pricing and Offer Strategy
- Develop and evolve pricing architecture: develop strategies across tiers to grow average revenue per user (ARPU) through tier design, value alignment, and smart packaging.
- Lead offer strategy: design and refine the bundling, packaging, and promotional constructs that make membership more compelling at point of consideration and throughout the client lifecycle.
- Use insight to inform decisions: apply market benchmarks, cohort analysis, and client willingness-to-pay signals to develop pricing and offer recommendations that are both competitive and commercially sound.
- Partner on modelling and communication: work with Finance on impact modelling and with Sales and Marketing on the positioning and rollout of pricing and offer changes.
What You'll Need:
- 8-12 years of experience in product management, growth strategy, category management, or brand management within a recurring revenue or membership business.
- Deep fluency in subscription economics: cohort analysis, churn modelling, LTV, ARPU, and retention curves are your native language.
- A track record of building and executing growth plans, not just contributing to them. You have owned a number and figured out how to hit it.
- Strong analytical instincts: you model out the data, ask hard questions of it, and turn findings into clear, structured business cases and investment recommendations.
- Practical adoption of AI tools: you proactively use AI to accelerate analysis, surface insights faster, and improve the quality of your decisions.
- Cross-functional influence: you know how to build a coalition, earn buy-in without authority, and keep stakeholders aligned on a shared goal.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to frame a problem, build a business case, and present a recommendation that makes action easy.
- Background in telecom, loyalty programs, financial services, consumer health, or premium wellness is strongly preferred. Healthcare experience is a plus, not a requirement.
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF YOU…
- Care about the client's experience as much as the revenue number.
- Get energized by ambitious targets and treat gaps between current state and goal as puzzles to solve.
- Are deeply curious: you read the data before you are asked to, you pull the thread, and you do not wait to be told what matters.
- Can hold both the strategic view and the executional detail without dropping either.
- Know when to go deep alone and when to bring your leader in; you ask for what you need in a way that makes action easy.
