What you’ll be doing if you get the job:
As a member of our team, the primary focus of your role is developing data analytics solutions. Using various data analysis methods, help improve business intelligence and support strategic decisions, benefiting customer experiences. Working alongside business analysts and software developers in our ICT team, and highlighting the importance of data in enhancing our insurance products. The required skills are valuable in creating data-focused strategies that contribute to the business's growth and success.
Who’ll you report to:
You’ll be based within our Information and Communication Technology division at our Sandton ,
Johannesburg head office. You’ll report to the ICT Manager: Development.
Your qualifications and experience:
• You must have passed Grade 12 / Matric with an achievement symbol of no less than C for higher grade Maths
• You must have Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, or relevant field
• Advanced certifications in SQL, Power BI, data analysis, or related fields (beneficial)
• You must have 3 to 4 years’ experience in data analytics with strong SQL and visualization skills
Your knowledge
• SQL, Power B.I and Power Apps, Access and Excel - Intermediate • Understanding of life insurance products and services is advantageous
Your outputs
• Design, develop, and maintain solutions utilising the appropriate tools and technologies. This includes creating dashboards, reports, and visualisations using tools like Power BI and SSRS, as well as applications such as Power Apps, Access, and Excel.
• Define requirements for data analytics projects and translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Performing data analysis and statistical modelling to identify trends and insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and to provide support.
• Conduct testing and validation of analytics solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Implementation of data analytics solutions, ensuring successful deployment and integration.
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant governance standards.
• Demonstrating discipline in following established processes and procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards
• Providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on ICT matters, offering recommendations and solutions to address their technology needs
• Identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities within ICT systems and processes, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring business continuity
