Description

The service shop assistant answers the phone and takes care of auto part ordering and paperwork daily.
Essential Functions:
  • Treat all team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect.
  • Answer shop telephone: transfer calls, take messages, help trouble shoot common issues over the phone, schedule service visits.
  • Check and respond to emails throughout the day.
  • Organize shop paperwork.
  • Make sure invoices are correct and have correct Purchase Order (PO) #.
  • Order parts by sourcing multiple options, getting the best deal. Communicate to shop manager when they will arrive to help schedule the service to be completed.
  • For shop stocked items, organize and inventory the items. Order when quantities get low.
  • Drive to pick up parts.
  • Pick up/drop off vehicles as needed.
  • Coordinate with appropriate contact at each store location scheduled service visits. Ensure equipment is there and will be available to be serviced.
  • Keep up-to-date list of all trucks and forklifts. Ensure GHC Central vehicle tracking is accurate.
  • Serve as the contact for PM forklift service for all store locations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment. Maintain situational awareness. Identify and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not directly supervise anyone.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside the shop. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate.

Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing and walking throughout the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week. Weekdays, Mon – Fri 7:00-4:00pm.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of auto service shop management experience preferred.
  • Must have an active drivers license.
  • Computer skills
