Position Overview
Verde Farms is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate the daily operations of our organic beef manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Production & Logistics Manager, this role is responsible for supervising Production Associates, ensuring production schedules are executed efficiently, maintaining product quality and food safety standards, and achieving daily production targets.
The Production Supervisor works closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Inventory, Shipping & Receiving, Human Resources, and other cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for monitoring production performance, resolving operational issues, coaching and developing employees, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Success in this position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, sound decision-making, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading production teams, enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, SQF, and workplace safety standards while driving productivity, quality, and employee engagement.
- Supervise, analyze, and resolve work problems or give assistance to Production Associates to resolve issues/obstacles that may arise during normal production
- Oversee the operation of production machinery including changing of film, changing of labels, and changing of dies.
- Immediately corrects or reports any production problems during a shift to Plant Manager
- Involved with all production planning and coordination to ensure orders are filled properly and promptly
- Maintain the highest standards for all raw materials and equipment – preparation for production readiness and inspection
- Maintain working knowledge, awareness, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ensure proper communication, training, and compliance to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to proper use of PPEs, safe ergonomic practices, and proper/safe handling of food products
- Ensure Production Associates follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures to manufacture quality products
- Ensure daily workflows result in meeting the production target for the day
- Communicate and implement changes with the Quality Manager and Technicians to ensure all sanitization requirements are met
- Ensure the team is working at a fast pace to ensure timeliness in achieving production goals
- Working with HR to coach and counsel, and give timely feedback to Production Associates to address any performance issues (including documenting necessary disciplinary actions)
- Participate in meetings, huddles, and other communication as required to ensure successful planning and execution of the production schedule
- Support the care and maintenance of all equipment and systems in safe operating condition. Proactively address any equipment issues with the Maintenance Technician and Manager
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and safe work practices
- Maintain a team environment and high employee morale.
- Support continuous improvement projects
- Participate in training as required for the position

Summary of Experience and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience; bachelor’s degree a plus
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the beef grinding and further processing industry
- Experience working in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment with tight deadlines to be met daily
- Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong conflict management skills
- Ability to mentor and train all Production associate staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs
- At times, will be required to go into various areas of the facility, subject to temperature and humidity changes
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to work under, comply with, and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedures set forth by Verde Farms
- Bilingual in Spanish (is a plus, not a requirement)
