Mission

The Autonomous Driving Principal Architect is responsible for architecture, design and development of the overall anSWer SW product portfolio including system solutions and technologies in line with platform standards, market demands, customer needs and the technology development roadmap. 

The role requires 5+ years of ADAS product development combined with extensive expertise in complex problem solving, product development, system & SW architecture design, implementation and solutions delivery to customers. 

Responsibilities:

Platform Architecture & Functional Design

  • Lead and develop DVS vision platform standards; embedded system architecture design based on Valeo/Customer system requirements, working closely with each of the R&D platform teams to develop feasible platform solutions.  

  • Define, own and standardize the vision product system architecture for Valeo Vision Systems products and functions, including cameras, ECU’s, Surround View Visualisation systems, Trailer Assistance Functions, Automated Parking and Autonomous Driving Functions incorporating advanced computer vision, deep learning and sensor fusion with ultrasonics, radar and lidar

  • Contribute to the Technical Development Plan by analyzing product Market and Technology survey, and benchmark reports to propose technical product and feature roadmaps

  • Next Gen Technology analysis; System/camera/Multicore SoCs/MCUs/video transmission/image processing/algorithm & HMI

  • Liase and collaborate with other Valeo teams globally, represent DVS R&D platform team at industry and internal events

  • Regular engagement with customer engineering teams on advanced and running projects

  • Propose and create patents where possible, ensure IP protection and non-infringement

  • Perform regular reviews of customer product developments in line with project milestones

  • Perform technology demonstrations for key customers and other stakeholders

Education/Training;

  • Engineering Degree

  • Masters/PHD in Engineering a distinct advantage

Professional Experience

  • More than 10 years of experience, ideally with multi-skills capability (combination of System and SW Architecture)

  • At least one successful experience within international perimeter

  • Successful product launches in Automotive ADAS
