Job description:
- Review tax, PAYE, TDS, CSG and VAT computations and returns;
- Coordinate internally to ensure timely filing of quarterly and annual tax returns for all clients
- Monitor status of client tax compliance by reviewing the tax reports and producing KPIs;
- Prepare and maintain the taxation processes;
- Assist with regular internal training sessions/tax updates sessions;
- Assist in preparation of tax technical papers and new tax procedures;
- Maintain database of MRA tax rulings, domestic tax cases, Indian tax ruling/cases and relevant international tax rulings/cases;
- Monitor tax filing deadlines and ensure timely submissions
- Assist in healthchecks and compliance reviews
- Review queries received from MRA for all clients centrally and provide guidance to client service units on
required course of action; - Liaise with clients in respect of MRA queries, and review/amend reply letters and supporting documents
to address MRA queries; - Liaise with MRA in respect of client tax matters and attend meetings with MRA officers on behalf of clients;
- Conduct applied research on domestic and international tax issues;
- Review changes in tax laws, analyse implications and arrange for implementation of same;
- Assist in performing tax analysis on Mauritian Tax matters for clients and summarising findings in report;
- Any other duty that may be communicated to you by your Manager and Directors.
Skills:
- 0-2 years of working experience in the Global Business sector and familiar with different types of vehicles structures.
- Holds a degree or has substantially completed a professional ACA or ACCA qualification;
- Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds may also be considered;
- Has a keen interest in taxation and has been exposed to various types of tax computations;
- Basic understanding of Mauritian tax legislations;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Complements formal training with self-learning;
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
