Information Technology Teaching Fellow | School of Technology | Full-time | Torrens University Australia
Help shape the future of higher education.
At Torrens University Australia, we're redefining what learning looks like.
We're building a new cohort of Teaching Fellows - innovative, student-focused academics who are passionate about creating engaging learning experiences and helping shape the next generation of teaching and learning.
This is more than a teaching role. You'll join a team leading the evolution of higher education through student-centred learning, AI-enabled teaching, digital innovation, and contemporary learning design.
Why this role?
This role has been created to strengthen Torrens University’s permanent academic workforce, supporting the delivery of flexible, high-quality, student-centred learning experiences across on-campus, online, hybrid and asynchronous learning environments, while enhancing student success and employability.
We're looking for educators who don't simply teach, they innovate. People who are excited by questions like:
• How can AI enhance learning?
• What does great online teaching look like?
• How can data and student feedback improve the learning experience?
• How do we prepare graduates for careers that don't yet exist?
About the role
As a Teaching Fellow (Information Technology), you'll join the School of Technology, where you'll inspire and support the next generation of IT professionals. You'll teach across Bachelor and Master of Information Technology programs, delivering engaging learning experiences in subjects such as Intelligent Systems, Foundations and Architecture of Cloud Computing, Machine Learning Principles, Smart Industry Applications, Enterprise Computing Systems, IT Professional Practice, and Software Engineering and Development.
You'll combine outstanding teaching practice with digital capability, learning design and innovation to create learning experiences that are flexible, engaging and centred around student success.

Collaborate: You enjoy working with colleagues across disciplines to improve learning, share ideas, and solve challenges together.
Thrive in change: You're adaptable, resilient, and excited by working in a dynamic, digitally evolving higher education environment.
Full-time permanent position located at Surry Hills Campus in Sydney.

Demonstrated expertise in one or more core Information Technology disciplines, including Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Systems, Digital Transformation, or related computing fields, supported by strong theoretical knowledge and current technical skills aligned with industry practice.
Current industry experience in Information Technology or a closely related field, with the ability to integrate contemporary technologies, commercial ICT solutions, and authentic, technology-enhanced teaching into the student learning experience. Professional membership (e.g. Australian Computer Society) and relevant industry certifications (such as AWS, Azure, Cisco CCNA, CISSP, CEH, Scrum Master, or equivalent) are highly regarded, together with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining currency with emerging technologies, and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences across face-to-face, hybrid, and online environments.
