Description
Superior Diesel, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team at either our Waterman or DeKalb location. This full-time position offers steady hours in a clean, organized shop environment with occasional field service work based on customer needs.
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Complete fluid and filter services, inspections, brake inspections, and other preventative maintenance tasks.
- Identify potential issues before they become major repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using modern diagnostic software and tools.
- Repair or replace components including engines, transmissions, brake systems, HVAC systems, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair work efficiently and accurately.
- Safely operate hydraulic lifts, pneumatic tools, welders, and other shop equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and best practices.
- Clearly communicate repair findings and recommendations.
- Accurately document inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
- Work closely with service advisors and management to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience OR completion of a related mechanical training program.
- Experience as a truck or diesel technician preferred.
- Proficiency with mechanical and computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- Must provide own hand tools.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
