This is your role
Join our engineering team as a Cloud Engineer Intern and play an essential role in the growth of Nevis. In this role you will support the development and operation of the cloud infrastructure behind our SaaS products. You will work with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), help automate deployments through CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and observability practices across our cloud environments. You will work in an international team, collaborating with colleagues from different locations and functions such as engineering, product management, customer support, and consulting. If you are interested in cybersecurity, identity and access management, the related protocols and standards, and want to work on this increasingly critical part of the IT industry, we are looking forward to your application.
Responsibilities
Design and implement efficient, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure supporting our SaaS products
Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines using modern CI/CD practices
Containerize and orchestrate services using Docker and Kubernetes
Contribute to Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and observability solutions across our cloud environments
Participate in all aspects of software development such as planning, specification, technical design, testing and code reviews
Use Agile development methodologies and modern software development practices

Must-have requirements
Basic experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
Scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, Bash, or Java / Golang)
Experience with CI/CD tools - GitHub Actions preferred
High level of software quality and security awareness
Autonomous, self-managed personality
Excellent problem-solving skills, product thinking approach
On-going university studies (MSc/BSc) in Computer Science or a related STEM field
Fluent verbal and written English communication skills
Nice-to-have requirements
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)
Knowledge of federation protocols like OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML
Understanding of networking and cloud security fundamentals
Experience with HTTP-based REST APIs
Linux systems administration skills
