What you’ll do
- Pattern Construction: Build, assemble, modify, and repair wooden patterns, fixtures, and related shop components using hand and power tools.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and follow blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Quality Control: Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and templates to ensure patterns meet engineering specifications.
- Tooling Maintenance: Operate woodworking equipment and assist with CNC machine setup and operation.
- Production Support: Prepare materials for production, including cutting, sanding, laminating, and finishing wood components.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
- Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel expected; primarily onsite work within the Pattern Shop environment.
What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in woodworking, cabinetry, carpentry, CNC operation, manufacturing, or related skilled trades.
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Willingness to learn and work independently in a hands-on shop environment handling materials safely.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with CNC equipment and CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
- Background in custom cabinetry or precision manufacturing.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and shop equipment.
- Prior exposure to patternmaking or foundry processes.
