Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a communications professional to join our UK & Ireland Communications and Media Relations team as a Specialist, Media Relations & Consumer Insights. The successful candidate will bring an understanding of UK youth culture, sport culture and style, experience executing communications strategies within the sportswear industry, a collaborative approach, critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Strong strategic judgement, with the ability to access and apply knowledge of consumer and media insights, trends, and intelligence related to sport style and sport culture, is important. A culturally curious mindset is essential.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, with experience identifying new opportunities and turning them into breakthrough communication engagement strategies and tactics. This person demonstrates agility, embraces change by finding solutions, and can accomplish goals despite incomplete information and ambiguity. They thrive in a dynamic environment, bring a growth mindset, and contribute positively to the team.

You will have:

  • Relevant work experience in PR/communications, preferably with a focus on sport, sportswear and style.

  • Understanding of the intersection of sport and fashion, and broader culture within the UK, with a keen interest in sport/fitness and its communities.

  • Sharp, distinct perspective on the future of youth culture with the ability to synthesise these insights and integrate them into plans.

  • Experience executing and evaluating strategic communications plans that deliver narrative-led storytelling and consumer engagement.

  • Proven ability to initiate and drive the ideation process, contributing to meaningful and innovative strategies, concepts, and partnerships.

  • Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and plans clearly, with the skills to influence across a complex matrix on a functional and regional basis.

  • Solid project management skills, including strategic planning, creative ideation, execution, budgeting, and agency management.

  • Relationships with youth, lifestyle and culture media, complemented by networks that stretch beyond media and into new platforms, creators and tastemakers representing UK culture on a global level.

  • Think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing and producing tactics.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll be part of the UK Communications and Media Relations team in London and will report to the Senior Director of Communications, UK. You’ll work with communications peers across Consumer Product Brand Communication within EMEA as well as Global teams. This role has a specific focus on Nike Sportswear and Jordan Brand and will work particularly closely with NIKE’s integrated brand marketing teams. Because of the scope of this role, you will occasionally be expected to work across other fields of play Football, Running, Training and Basketball understanding their influence on culture and style in service of business priorities.

What You’ll Work On

You will be responsible for developing and executing long-term communications strategies and innovative storytelling tactics that build Nike and Jordan Brand’s image as leaders in sport and sport-style culture, creating positive brand resonance with consumers and employees.

You will:

  • Develop and execute strategic communications plans for the UK & Ireland focusing on Nike Sportswear and Jordan Brand.

  • Seek outside-world opportunities that take Nike into new spaces and to the edges of sport and sport culture.

  • Build and strengthen authentic connections with key media and creators in the UK.

  • Bring Nike’s key stories to life across multiple formats — online, social, print, broadcast and more — and push the boundaries of how Nike connects and communicates with the world.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in fashion, design, film, art, media and technology.

  • Create, lead and execute key communication initiatives, events and sport and athlete moments within the UK.

  • Provide additional support to other sports including football, running and training when required.
