Our Mechanics safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely, so our Drivers can continue to keep local neighborhoods clean and safe, by courteously and efficiently providing waste removal and environmental services to customers.
Diesel Mechanic – Up to $30/Hour
Shift: Monday – Friday, 1:30 PM – Midnight
Schedule: 5x10s 50hours/week OT weekly and year-round | Only 1 Saturday/Month Required
Location: Jacksonville NC Site
Pay: Up to $30.00/hour (based on experience)

The Job:
As a Diesel Mechanic, you are the backbone of our operations. You'll keep our fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks and rolling stock running safely and efficiently so our drivers can serve the community.
Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix heavy-duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
Maintenance & Overhauls: Perform scheduled maintenance, rebuilds, and major repairs.
Work Order Management: Track repairs, order required parts, and schedule jobs using our M5 system.
Safety First: Maintain safe working conditions, comply with safety regulations, and utilize standard power and hand tools.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic.
Education: High school diploma or GED (technical diploma or trade school preferred).
Skills: Proficient with diagnostic software/tools and comfortable learning new software systems.
Tools: Must possess and maintain your own set of tools required for heavy equipment maintenance.
Mindset: Reliable, independent problem solver who follows safety procedures and federal/state/local regulations.
Physical Capability: Ability to safely operate equipment and perform all physical aspects of heavy vehicle maintenance.
