Requirements

High school diploma required.

Technical degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Offshore Operations, or related fields is preferred.

PTW Coordinator training (internal company program or third-party courses such as OPITO Permit to Work Coordinator Training)
Relevant safety certifications:
-
NR-10, NR-33, NR-35 (for Brazil-based roles)
-
OSHA Standards (for international or U.S.-based projects)
-

H2S Awareness (for hydrogen sulfide risk environments)
-
LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) – Energy Isolation Procedures
-
Risk Assessment & Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) for offshore operations
-
Previous experience as a PTW Coordinator, Safety Officer, or Supervisor involved in Permit to Work systems

Practical knowledge of industrial/offshore work activities and related operational risks

Responsibilities
1 Supervise and manage the Permit To Work system on site.
2 Review, approve, and issue work permits for critical activities (e.g. hot work, confined space entry, working at height, electrical work, excavations, heavy lifting, among others).
3 Ensure that risk assessments are attached and validated for each PTW issued
4 Coordinate the interface between different teams, ensuring clear communication about activity risks.
5 Conduct site inspections to confirm that the conditions described in the PTW are being followed.
6 Perform internal audits of the PTW system, promoting continuous improvements.
7 Participate in daily safety meetings (toolbox talks) and task planning meetings.
8 Report deviations, non-conformities, and incidents related to the PTW process.
