Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Shift Technician to support 24x7 Facilities Operations and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical electrical infrastructure and utility systems. The role involves operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and first-line response activities for high-voltage electrical distribution systems supporting manufacturing and facility operations.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in 220 kV GIS Substations, 33 kV Distribution Systems, 6.6 kV Networks, HT/LT Power Systems, Transformers, UPS, DG Sets, and Facility Utility Systems.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Operations
- Operate and monitor 220 kV GIS, 33 kV, and 6.6 kV electrical distribution systems.
- Perform routine electrical switching, isolation, energization, and shutdown activities as per approved procedures.
- Monitor power system parameters, load distribution, and electrical equipment health.
- Support uninterrupted power supply to manufacturing and facility operations.
- Respond to alarms, trips, and electrical system abnormalities during shift operations.
GIS & Substation Support
- Assist in operation and routine inspection of GIS substations and switchgear.
- Monitor GIS breakers, disconnectors, protection systems, and SF₆ gas parameters.
- Perform equipment inspection, housekeeping, and condition monitoring activities.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance of substations and electrical systems.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment faults and support quick restoration of systems.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation.
- Support reliability improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize Gen AI tools, Copilot, Copilot Library, and Agent Bots for troubleshooting and operational support.
Critical Utility Support
Support operations and maintenance of:
- HVAC Systems
- Chillers
- Air Compressors
- Water & Wastewater Systems
- Gas Systems
- Cleanroom Utilities
- Building Infrastructure
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Electrical Safety, LOTO, PTW, Arc Flash, and EHS requirements.
- Participate in emergency response and incident management activities.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and statutory regulations.
- Support audits, inspections, and safety programs.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain shift logbooks and operational records.
- Record equipment alarms, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Update maintenance records in CMMS/SAP.
- Support preparation of shift and maintenance reports.
Required Qualifications
Education
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Experience
- 3-8 years of experience in:
