Accenture Federal Services is seeking Electrical / Wire Harness Design Engineers for an up-conversion team on a modernization program for a major aerospace & defense manufacturer. The role performs the core electrical conversion work: turning legacy 2D wiring diagrams, schematics, and harness or cable drawings into structured, model-based electrical definitions in Zuken E3.series, then releasing them into the client's PLM system.

The work:

  • Build electrical definitions in E3.series: wiring diagrams and cable or harness models with connectors, connection lines, conductors, signals, splices, and shields carrying the right attributes.
  • Ensure connectivity is correct: lines land on the correct pins with conductors assigned, signal names carry end to end, and connector, cable, and shield attributes are complete.
  • Maintain a clean, well-structured device tree, with components grouped into assemblies, correct part-number attribution, and no stray items.
  • Reconcile the E3 BOM with the PLM BOM.
  • Account for interfacing electrical structure during conversion, support obsolescence review, and provide process and template improvements to the technical lead.

Here's what you need:

  • - 7 years of electrical design engineering experience.
  • Hands-on ECAD experience in a major toolset, for example Zuken E3.series, Mentor Capital or Capital Essentials, EPLAN, or Mentor/Xpedition.
  • A track record of creating and modifying electrical schematics, wiring and cable definitions, and the related engineering data.
  • Working knowledge of connectors, pin-outs, wire sizing, and shielding.
  • Readiness to learn Zuken E3.series through structured training. Direct E3.series experience is not required to start.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Direct Zuken E3.series experience, and especially the library, standards, or DS-E3/PDM administration side, which is a scarcer and separately valued skill.
  • Harness and cable design, including manufacturing documentation, formboards, and EMI/EMC design rules.
  • Direct experience in a close-substitute ECAD tool: Mentor Capital or Capital Essentials, EPLAN, or Mentor/Xpedition.
  • Electro-mechanical integration exposure, such as MCAD/ECAD co-design and NX or CATIA routing and path-length constraints.
  • PLM experience such as Windchill, and model-based up-conversion or remastering work.
  • Aerospace & defense industry experience.
