Senior Product Manager, AI and Data Platform
The Senior Product Manager, AI and Data Platform is responsible for defining and driving the product strategy for Blackbaud - YourCause Data & AI platform the foundation that powers analytics, data products, machine learning, and agent‑based experiences across the Corporate Social Impact.
This role blends product leadership, platform ownership, and technical strategy. You will define the vision and roadmap for modern data and AI infrastructure (Lakehouse, pipelines, feature services, ML enablement, observability, and governance), partnering closely with engineering, architecture, and cross‑functional teams to ensure the platform is scalable, secure, cost‑efficient, and built around clear customer and business outcomes.
Success in this role requires strong product judgment, the ability to operate in ambiguity, and a passion for building platforms that accelerate teams and unlock business outcomes for the nonprofit sector.
What You'll Do
- Support the definition and execution of the product roadmap for core Data & AI platform capabilities, including ingestion, transformation, lakehouse architecture, feature services, and AI/ML enablement layers.
- Help drive product decisions in partnership with senior leadership, ensuring alignment with Blackbaud's Unified Data & AI Platform Strategy (modularity, interoperability, AI‑first design).
- Partner with Architecture, Governance, and Security to ensure the platform meets trust, compliance, and Responsible AI standards.
- Develop business cases for build vs. buy decisions, prioritizing core competencies while reducing operational complexity.
- Partner with engineering leaders to deliver high‑impact platform initiatives aligned to AOP priorities (legacy modernization, cloud migration, cost optimization, agent enablement).
- Define and track success metrics, KPIs, and OKRs for platform initiatives, ensuring platform reliability and adoption goals are met.
- Establish clear roadmaps, milestones, and prioritization frameworks in collaboration with engineering and architecture partners.
- Gather and synthesize requirements from internal and external stakeholders to inform platform investments.
- Act as the voice of the customer internal platform consumers, Data Science, Analytics, and Product Engineering teams ensuring the platform accelerates, not blocks, delivery.
- Communicate roadmap, progress, and trade‑offs clearly to executive stakeholders and cross‑functional partners.
- Influence standards and best practices across the Data Intelligence COE.
- Lead through influence, partnering with engineering managers and technical leads (without direct reporting authority) to drive execution.
What We'll Want You to Have
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with meaningful exposure to software, data, or platform engineering domains (.NET, Azure, Databricks, ADO environments preferred).
- 3+ years of experience leading product strategy for data, AI, or platform products.
- Working knowledge of modern data platforms, cloud data lakes/lakehouses, distributed processing, streaming, and APIs enough to credibly partner with engineering and architecture teams.
- Strong understanding of platform product management principles, including operating and scaling production systems.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and influence without authority.
- Experience translating technical capabilities into business value and communicating that value to non‑technical stakeholders and executives.
