Fidelity Investments has a phenomenal opportunity for a Director, Engineering, to lead the Customer Protection and Digital Shared Services QE group! This individual will have the responsibility to lead, innovate and revitalize test automation effort across multiple teams to achieve substantial scale and efficiency to accelerate business outcome. Including developing an automation roadmap, strategies, monitoring testing progress, providing automation KPIs to Engineering leaders and Product, project estimates/resource assignments and relationship management with development/business partners. This includes automation analysis/evaluation, automation approach, test scenarios, overseeing multiple projects, leading/supporting the design/development and execution of both test cases/scripts, monitoring first-level triage of defects found, and ensuring thorough retesting of defects through resolution occurs. This role will be based in Westlake, TX.
The Expertise You Have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred; a degree in Engineering or Math is acceptable with comparable software development experience.
10 years of software development or test automation experience.
Experience in Financial Services, specifically in DC or DB. Digital products such as NetBenefits, NB Mobile and PSW product area are a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong multi-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
Deep technical expertise with confirmed ability to drive technical solutions and automation frameworks/pipelines such as Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured, Karate, etc.
Work closely with product owners on blueprints and quarterly planning on feature sets that impact multiple clients and products.
Uses a data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
Practical experience with quality engineering fundamentals such as test automation, data virtualization, and CI/CD integration
Authentic investment in implementing and sustaining quality gates with an audit and governance approach
Proactively partner with Engineering partners, COE teams, and Product Managers to:
influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions related to your area of expertise
measure performance through established objectives and critical metrics and deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results
align associates across teams and product areas to ensure the best utilization of talent while also building learning opportunities and content to develop skills
set and apply standards and ensure the work performed is aligned with established road maps
