Your Role With The Company:
Reporting Structure
- This position reports directly to the Global Civil | Structural Engineering Manager.
- Execute and oversee the preparation of civil/structural engineering deliverables in accordance with the Company Management System, current legislation, project requirements, and applicable international standards.
- Review and check deliverables produced by others to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Provide technical information and engineering support to the project team.
- Participate in technical design and project reviews to confirm alignment with customer needs and QHSE requirements.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a larger engineering team.
- Lead large, multi-skilled engineering teams when required.
- Identify and present individual and departmental training and development opportunities for consideration.
- Understand internal and external customer needs and ensure they are being addressed effectively.
- Build strong customer relationships through clear, consistent, and proactive communication.
- Interface with internal engineering disciplines and external project stakeholders, including clients, fabricators, and site contractor representatives.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to communicate technical needs, such as loads and mounting geometry, and to support their requirements, including access and clearances.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Structural Engineering in Louisiana and Texas.
- 5+ years of experience in structural engineering and heavy foundation design for large reciprocating machinery with significant dynamic loading in industrial applications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, operations, or other technical roles within a multidisciplinary petrochemical design environment.
- Self-motivated and able to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision. Confident in making decisions, taking initiative, staying organized, and supporting multiple concurrent projects.
- Site experience, such as construction support, troubleshooting, site surveys, or fabricator shop work.
- Up-to-date knowledge of civil and structural international standards applicable to petrochemical process plants, with familiarity and experience using the following codes or later versions: AISC 14th Edition, ACI 318-08, ASCE 7-10, NFPA 101 2012, and IBC 2012.
- Strong command of industry-standard visualization and calculation tools, such as Navisworks, STAAD Pro, RAM Elements, Mathcad, SAP2000, Tekla, and other Bentley engineering software.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
