As a Medical Assistant at the Fairfax Breast Center, you’ll play an important role in creating a supportive, comfortable experience for patients throughout their visit.
From preparing patients for procedures and assisting our clinical team to keeping the center organized, safe, and ready for the day, your work helps ensure our patients receive the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve.

What You’ll Do
As an important member of the Fairfax Breast Center team, you will:
- Support Patient Care: Assist physicians, technologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses with procedures while helping create a smooth and comfortable experience for every patient.
- Prepare Patients: Help patients prepare for procedures and provide clear, compassionate communication before and after their appointments.
- Keep Care Moving: Provide versatile support throughout the center, including assisting at the front desk, coordinating prior authorizations, and helping with scheduling.
- Be Ready When It Matters: Serve as an important member of the emergency response team and help ensure emergency equipment and medications are checked and ready.
- Maintain Clinical Standards: Keep supplies stocked, properly sterilize instruments, and maintain sterilization equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Promote Safety and Compliance: Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal requirements to help maintain a safe, confidential environment for patients and staff.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Medical Assistant Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and team members
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- A collaborative approach to teamwork and patient care

Compensation
Based on your qualifications and experience, the compensation range for this position is:
$20.40 - $27.60 per hour
Placement within the range is determined by factors including experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.
