Description
Education and Experience:
- 3 years prior experience investigating, reporting and decisioning various types of BSA, AML and OFAC alerts at a financial institution or equivalent.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Economic/Financial Crime Management or Criminal Justice or equivalent experience or certifications
- Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act requirements
Skills and Abilities:
- Team player with strong organizational, communication, analytical and PC skills (especially Excel)
- Ability to research/analyze data and recognize/evaluate patterns of customer activity
- Must be a skilled investigator with understanding of types of fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing that can occur in a banking environment.
- Must have the ability to professionally present information (orally and in writing) and respond to questions from Law Enforcement, Prosecutors, and Officers of the Court.
- Must have the ability to work multiple inquiries/investigations simultaneously
Tasks Performed:
- 60% Complete case investigations derived from MIS reports, employee referrals, media referrals, criminal subpoenas, etc., and complete SARs when appropriate.
- 10% Review and analyze MIS reports generated from BAM+ to detect unusual activity. Create BSA case investigations when appropriate.
- 15% Maintain various databases and logs including the Enhanced Due Diligence, the Unusual Activity Referral database, BSA Case Log, and the BAM+.
- 5% Review and verify OFAC compliance reports
- 5% Work closely with various departments to assist them in complying with BSA/OFAC, CIP and Patriot Act requirements.
- 5% Other duties as assigned.
