Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Environmental Services Technician, you will maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors, strictly following established departmental procedures and standards. Every day you will perform cleaning duties with meticulous attention to detail, ensure all areas meet hygiene and safety requirements, and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and other staff members. To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong work ethic, thorough attention to cleanliness and safety, and excellent customer service skills, contributing to a secure and welcoming hospital environment.
- Perform 6 step daily cleaning procedure in patient room to a level acceptable to the patient.
- Perform checkout cleaning procedure in patient room according to departmental policies and procedures, including medical equipment.
- Perform intensive cleaning procedures in specialty areas such as Emergency Department, Surgery and Pharmacy to a level acceptable that eliminates the risk of infection to the patient.
- Removes and transports soiled linens, trash, infectious waste and recycling according to departmental policy and procedures.
- Prioritize assisting customers above all other duties.
- When cleaning an occupied room the Environmental Services Worker will follow organizational customer service script.
Job Requirements
Required
- Can distinguish the differences between levels of disinfection and perform low and intermediate level disinfection
- Ability to explain orally or in writing the differences between levels of disinfection and perform intermediate level disinfection in areas
- Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines
- Effectively uses computers and mobile devices
- Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others
- Communicates orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where coworkers and team members reciprocate in kind

- Ability to work without close supervision
Preferred
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Previous healthcare, hospitality or customer service experience
Schedule: PRN, 7:00 AM -3:30 PM Every Weekend. As a PRN team member, you would receive the applicable weekend differential in addition to your hourly rate.
Physical RequirementsMedium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
