About Contour

Contour Software has grown from a dozen people to over 2,000 staff across 3 cities, in less than 14 years.

As a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., we are proud to be part of a global enterprise software conglomerate that has grown to become one of the top 10 software companies in the world, with employees and customers in 100+ countries. With a broad-based and ever-growing portfolio of market-leading, vertical-market enterprise solutions covering more than 100 industry domains in predominantly mature markets, CSI's recipe creates the perfect environment for professionals to build fulfilling, long-term careers.

What started as an R&D & Accounting back-office, has progressed into a full-service Global Centre serving all functions and departments, at the divisional as well as operating group/corporate level. Today Contour employees, located in Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad, are serving CSI divisions located in time zones spanning the globe, from Sydney to Vancouver. With the global growth of Constellation as the wind in our sails, we are only just getting started!

The Division:
Kinetic Solutions is a part of the Volaris operating group of Constellation Software Inc. It is a leading provider of comprehensive (ERP) software solutions for student accommodation, conference, and event management to Higher Education institutions, venues, and conference centers.
Headquartered in Milton Keynes, UK, with additional offices in Boston, U.S., and Auckland, New Zealand. More than 260 customers in the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, and Australia use different combinations of Kinetic student accommodation, conferencing, and hospitality products.

The Position
We are looking to hire strong SQA Analyst professional with expertise in manual and automation testing.
This role sits with the KxEngage product team. KxEngage is a Flutter-based mobile, web and staff-portal platform used by universities and student accommodation providers across the UK and North America. It is an embedded, hands-on QA role in a small product team, working alongside the developers rather than downstream of them.
Our QA function is automation-first and AI-assisted. We use Claude and Claude Code as part of everyday QA work — generating and maintaining test code, deriving test cases from requirements and source, and building test data — and we expect the successful candidate to work the same way.

The successful hire will be located and work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and extend our shared Playwright/TypeScript automation suite across multiple platforms, spanning smoke, sanity and regression tiers.

  • Build and maintain our two-tier smoke architecture: a fast suite that runs on every merge and an extended suite that runs daily. The smoke suite gates deployment to staging, so runtime budget and reliability matter as much as coverage — a flaky test that blocks a release is a defect in its own right.

  • Write and maintain API-level tests against our AWS Lambda backend and REST endpoints, including contract tests that catch drift between mocked and real API responses before it reaches the mobile and web clients.

  • Use AI coding assistants (we use Claude and Claude Code) to generate, extend and maintain test cases, test scripts and test data, and to scan repositories for untested user flows. Equally important is knowing when not to trust the output — AI-generated tests and code conversions are validated against ground truth before anyone relies on them.

  • Manual and exploratory testing of release candidates across Flutter iOS and Android apps (TestFlight) and web builds, including real-device testing where hardware behaviour matters: push notifications, camera, and offline use.

  • Test data and environment management — tenant population scripts, disposable test tenants with guaranteed cleanup, and production-scale anonymised datasets for load and volume testing.

  • Verification across a multi-tenant, multi-region estate (UK and US), covering per-customer configuration, localisation and bilingual content, offline-first sync, and accessibility (WCAG conformance and VPAT evidence).

  • Peer QA of colleagues' work and ownership of the Awaiting QA stage of our Jira workflow: reproducing, triaging and documenting defects clearly enough to be actioned without a follow-up conversation.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in manual and automated software testing.

  • Hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts, as well as analyzing and reporting test results.

  • Demonstrable experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or equivalent) as part of day-to-day QA work: generating and refactoring test code, deriving test cases from requirements, tickets or source, and producing test data — combined with the judgement to review, challenge and validate what the tool produces. Candidates should expect to be asked how they use these tools and where they have found them unreliable.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript. This is the primary stack for the role — the suite you would inherit is written in it, and you would be extending it from day one. Familiarity with other frameworks such as Selenium or Cypress is useful but secondary.

  • Good practical experience with API testing tools, particularly Postman, and familiarity with API testing concepts and practices. Experience testing serverless (AWS Lambda) and REST APIs directly, and writing schema and contract assertions rather than status-code checks alone, is a significant advantage.

  • Hands-on experience with Accessibility, Functional, Sanity, Regression, and Mobile Device testing. Mobile testing in this role means Flutter applications on real iOS and Android devices, including offline behaviour, push notifications and localised or bilingual content.

  • Working experience with Git and version control practices, including branching, merging, and maintaining automation code.

  • Working knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) processes and their integration with automated testing. In practice this means test suites that run as a deployment gate, where a failing suite blocks the release — so tests must be reliable and fast enough to sit on the critical path. We use Bitbucket and Bitbucket Pipelines.

  • Good practical understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA processes within Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS products, where a single build behaves differently depending on per-customer configuration, and where a configuration change is as capable of causing an incident as a code change.

  • Comfortable working directly with developers in a small, fast-moving team, and confident raising a concern about release readiness to the product lead when the evidence supports it.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a responsible approach to assigned tasks.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, make timely decisions, and manage multiple complex tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new technologies, QA practices, and automation techniques, including researching and adopting industry best practices.

  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to remain composed under pressure, handle challenging situations professionally, and maintain a positive and constructive attitude when facing obstacles or resistance.
