M13 - Business Analyst

Overview 

We are supporting a client in migrating a legacy application, while maintaining existing business functionality and system behaviour.

We are looking for a Business Analyst to work closely with business users, the client and technical teams to understand requirements, analyse existing processes and ensure the migrated system meets business expectations.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document functional and business requirements.
• Analyse existing AS-IS processes, workflows, business rules and system functionality.
• Define and document TO-BE processes and functional requirements.
• Prepare functional specifications, process flows and system documentation.
• Work with technical teams to clarify functional requirements and system behaviour.
• Identify functional gaps, dependencies and business impacts arising from the migration.
• Support functional testing, UAT and defect validation.
• Compare legacy and migrated system behaviour and investigate functional discrepancies.
• Maintain requirements traceability, issues, clarifications and key decisions.
• Work closely with client stakeholders and offshore technical teams to support project delivery.

Must Have

• 4+ years of experience as a Functional BA, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering and business process analysis.
• Experience preparing functional specifications and process documentation.
• Experience with functional testing, UAT and defect management.
• Experience working with enterprise or legacy applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with both business and technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in legacy system migration or modernisation projects.
• Exposure to Sybase ASE, Microsoft SQL Server or PowerBuilder.
• Basic SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Experience with data mapping and migration validation.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence or Visio.
