Job Title: Assigner
The Assigner reporting location is 290 W. Nationwide Blvd. Columbus, OH. This position reports onsite.
Summary
Assigns daily scheduled work orders to ensure the attainment of safety, reliability, and compliance goals. Optimizes workforce to ensure the timely response to field operations and other Distribution Operations' customers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance with federal and state regulations
- Compliance with company policies as they relate to the processing of work orders
- Serviceable communication with mobile workforce, field operations, system operations, meter-to cash, call center, construction services, and all others that may apply
- Efficient distribution of workload that is efficiently prioritized to all field employees for the achievement goals and objectives
- Managed workforce level to ensure timely completion of all daily assignments.
- Exceptional customer service
- Exceptional response time to emergency calls and facility locates.
- Effective data-gathering, order distribution and communication
- Results that meet or exceed operational goals.
- Essential responsibilities:
- Assigns the activities of all field employees for all field work based upon workload requests and manpower availability.
- Prioritizes and assigns daily work orders to optimize utilization of resources.
- Monitors work throughout the day and reprioritizes and reassigns work as necessary to properly manage overtime.
- Assigns labor and equipment resources that will support the schedule.
- Coordinates the distribution of work to maximize operations effectiveness.
- Works with schedulers to ensure the appropriate prioritization and routing of daily work.
- Manages the backlog of undated and filler work that needs to get done.
- Directs and instructs personnel to respond to emergency orders and facility locates throughout Distribution Operations to ensure compliance is attained.
- Communicates with mobile workforce, field operations, system operations, meter-to cash, call center, construction services, and all others that may apply to ensure a collaborative and effective link.
- Consults with Schedulers to ensure the most efficient assignment of work.
- Coordinates with others, as appropriate (including outside parties utilities and internal resources/departments).
- Performs crew adjustments in MDSI based on resource constraints (e.g., employee call out) and notify supervisor of employee's off time.
- Performs other resource updates in MDSI, as necessary.
- Field calls from the call centers and perform the necessary follow-up for customer inquiries and complaints.
- Reschedules work (if needed) and ensures that customers are informed of the updated status.
Required Qualifications for Position
- High School Diploma
- Equivalent work experience taking into account the Responsibilities above
- Proficient MS Office experience (particularly MS Word and MS Excel)
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history
- Must be willing to work overtime, as required
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- Two years experience in Distribution Operations
- Knowledge of Distribution Operations' policies.
- Dispatching experience is a plus

Salary Range*:
$54,000.00 - $75,500.00*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
