Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
Job Summary
The Director, Medical Product Manufacturing IT will be focused on the IT support of the Global Medical Product and Distribution (GMPD) business manufacturing applications portfolio. Included in this scope will be direct support of 27 global manufacturing plants, manufacturing ERPs, labeling, MES/eDHR, manufacturing transformation and 150 local plant applications. In addition to the GMPD business support the position will also support the electronic batch record application deployed in the Nuclear segment.
The candidate will lead a staff of 20 to 30 and work closely with business functional partners, vendors and executives to align the capabilities of the future state portfolio of applications to meet the Manufacturing business strategy. The position will need to have a bias towards operational excellence for the application portfolio but must be able to work with functional partners at a strategic level. The person who has this job should be able to develop a strong working relationship with business functional partners and execute multiple IT strategies. The ideal candidate will have to be comfortable working in areas with little structure or definition as they work with functional partners to define the scope of new service offerings. Finally, the candidate will be able to manage strategic suppliers to deliver both run and build services in a managed services environment.
Responsibilities
Working knowledge of the device manufacturing business and/or understanding of supply chain management, sourcing or product development
Develop and communicate Business Relevant Strategies for a specific business function
Manage communications with multiple clients
Provide coaching and mentoring for team with multiple managers and teammates
Develop and manage the staff both technically and functionally
Work with other IT areas on cross-departmental/inter-company projects and new application requirements
Understand how to run and maintain an application portfolio
Manage the development of RFPs, RFIs, and SOWs
Must be able to manage financial and project budgets
Qualifications
12+ years of experience in medical manufacturing environment preferred
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
Ability to coach and mentor direct reports and staff
Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of applications including strategy development, build and run
Capability to successfully execute multiple development teams including both internal resources and external partners.
