Overview
A leading Tier-1 automotive manufacturer producing advanced interior and exterior vehicle components across Germany, Eastern Europe, and North America is recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant. Positioned within an agile corporate structure with flat hierarchies, this critical role oversees local statutory accounting (HGB), assists with global consolidated reporting (IFRS), supervises two accountants, and supports an ongoing ERP integration.
Key Duties
- Financial Statements & GL: Direct daily general ledger functions and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in compliance with German GAAP (HGB).
- Corporate Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate financial reporting packages following IFRS standards for group consolidation.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to two accounts payable and receivable professionals.
- Core Accounting Operations: Manage intercompany reconciliations, oversee fixed asset accounting, maintain internal compliance standards, and refine finance workflows.
- Systems & Digitalization: Serve as a functional key user during the deployment and optimization of the Infor LN ERP platform.
- Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal audit teams and external auditing partners.
Applicant Profile
Required Qualifications
- Language Capabilities: Fluent or C1-level proficiency in both German (for local compliance) and English (for international corporate communication).
- Professional Background: Demonstrated track record in corporate accounting, ideally within the manufacturing or automotive production industries.
- Technical Standards: In-depth knowledge of German statutory reporting (HGB) combined with practical exposure to IFRS consolidation environments.
- Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, OR a completed commercial apprenticeship paired with a certified Bilanzbuchhalter credential.
Desirable Criteria & Traits
- Sector & Systems Experience: Prior background in automotive supply chains, experience with Infor LN (or equivalent enterprise ERP software), and an enthusiasm for digital process automation.
- Personal Attributes: Structured, action-oriented, and collaborative approach, with a commitment to team development and readiness for occasional project-related travel.
