Staff Accountant

Location: Amsterdam, NY

FLSA: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Controller

HOURS: Full time, Monday thru Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Overtime as needed.

Pay Range: The pay range is $24.50-$33.15

 

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant provides support to the Controller in providing account balance reconciliations, journal entries, audits and monthly financial statements for multiple entities of Liberty ARC.

 

Job Qualifications:

1. Associates degree in business administration, accounting or related field and three years of qualified accounting experience OR a Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or related field and one year qualified accounting experience.
2. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as general office skills.
3. Must be able to read and write the English language.

 

Major Responsibilities:

1. Ensure timely and accurate journal entries, allocations and financial statement reporting.
2. Perform account balance reconciliations according to established standards.
3. Produce financial statement variance reporting and answer all questions on a timely basis.
4. Perform audits as agreed.
5. Meet all Agency, Federal, State, and County Reporting requirements as established.
6. Act as a resource to other departments in providing reliable financial information.
7. Develop and distribute budget information as required.
8. Prepare payroll tax filings for organization and subsidiaries.
9. Perform special projects as assigned.
