Senior Analog Design Engineer, Automotive Networking — Hyderabad, India

About the Role 

The Automotive Networking Business Unit at Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) is seeking a Senior Analog Design Engineer to join its Hyderabad design team. In this P3 role, you will design and develop high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for wired automotive connectivity, including Ethernet and related technologies. Your work may span data converters, line drivers and receivers, clock generation, references, power distribution, signal conditioning, and input/output circuits. 

Working with limited direction, you will own complex circuit blocks and contribute to product- and system-level design decisions. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and global cross-functional teams throughout the development cycle, from requirements and circuit implementation through tape-out, silicon validation, qualification, and production release. You will also have opportunities to review work and provide practical guidance to less experienced engineers. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Circuit design and ownership: Design, implement, and deliver complex transistor-level analog or mixed-signal circuit blocks such as amplifiers, data converters, line drivers and receivers, references, clocking circuits, power-management functions, and analog interfaces. 

• Architecture contribution: Translate product and system requirements into block specifications and contribute to circuit architecture, performance budgeting, and implementation trade-offs. 

• Design and simulation: Develop circuit schematic and perform process-voltage-temperature, Monte Carlo, noise, stability, transient, and post-layout analyses; identify and resolve performance, reliability, and integration issues. 

• Layout collaboration: Work closely with layout engineers on floorplanning, matching, parasitics, isolation, signal integrity, electromigration, and other critical physical-design considerations; review extracted results and drive closure. 

• Product execution: Prepare assigned designs for review and tape-out, and support silicon bring-up, laboratory characterisation, debug, production test, qualification, yield improvement, and release activities. 

• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with systems, product definition, digital design, verification, layout, process, test, applications, quality, and manufacturing teams to meet product objectives. 

• Engineering trade-offs: Evaluate performance, power, area, cost, schedule, reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, and manufacturability trade-offs within the scope of assigned designs. 

• Technical contribution: Participate in design reviews, document design decisions and results, share best practices, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers when appropriate. 

Required Qualifications and Experience 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline. 

• Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in analog or mixed-signal integrated-circuit design. 

• Demonstrated ability to independently own complex analog or mixed-signal circuit blocks from specification and design through layout, verification, and tape-out support. 

• Strong knowledge of transistor-level analog design, CMOS device behaviour, feedback, noise, matching, variability, reliability, and circuit trade-offs. 

• Hands-on design experience in one or more relevant circuit areas, such as amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, line interfaces, references, regulators, clock-generation circuits, filters, or power-distribution functions. 

• Proficiency with industry-standard IC design and simulation tools, including Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre or equivalent. 

• Good understanding of analog layout techniques and the ability to collaborate effectively with layout engineers and review critical layout details. 

• Experience supporting an IC tape-out and subsequent silicon bring-up, laboratory measurement, debug, or simulation-to-silicon correlation. 

• Strong problem-solving, technical communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with automotive Ethernet physical-layer circuits, wired automotive transceivers, or related high-speed communication architectures. 

• Experience applying automotive functional-safety, qualification, reliability, electromagnetic-compatibility, or electrostatic-discharge requirements to IC development. 

• Experience with behavioural modelling, mixed-signal verification, digitally assisted analog techniques, or system-level performance budgeting. 

• Evidence of technical innovation, reusable design methods, patents, publications, or successful silicon solutions is an advantage.
