Compensation: $23.50 / hour
Description
As Dishwasher/Steward, you'll keep the kitchen clean, sanitized, and running safely — the behind-the-scenes work that makes every service possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes, washing by hand or loading racks/conveyor to the dishwashing machine, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation
- Washes pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures
- Polishes silver using burnishing machines, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth as assigned
- Maintains temperatures and chemical levels per provided standards
- Keeps the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to maintain safety and sanitation compliance
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces
- Removes trash to designated containers, and steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, assisting with loading and unloading deliveries
- Assists in breaking down delivery boxes
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active kitchen environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Prior kitchen or dishwashing experience helpful but not required
