Job Summary:
Performs inspection, maintenance, and light repair of rental equipment within the branch shop and yard to ensure equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for rental. Supports fleet uptime through preventive maintenance, turnaround inspections, and accurate documentation. Escalates identified repair needs to Service and Repair Mechanics in a timely manner. Works primarily from the shop location and may assist field service activities based on business needs. Maintains adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs washing, inspection and light repair of returned rental equipment to determine readiness for the next rental cycle and restore equipment to ready-for-rental condition.
Executes preventive maintenance activities including lubrication, inspections, adjustments, and wear-part replacement in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations.
Diagnoses basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and small-engine issues and escalates complex repairs to Service and Repair or Heavy Diesel Mechanics as required.
Documents inspections, maintenance, and repairs accurately within company work order systems to support fleet health tracking and compliance.
Maintains organized shop, yard, and warehouse areas, including equipment washing and staging of equipment based on readiness status.
Adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and OES Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, including required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe shop practices.
Supports inventory management by maintaining commonly used parts, fluids, and supplies to reduce equipment downtime.
Education Qualifications:
High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Work Experience:
1–3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, or related field required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour General Industry certification within 3 months of hire required.
