MarshDescription:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh Risk Technology team at Marsh. This role will be based in our New York office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Global Placements Product Leader is accountable for the strategy, design, and delivery of Marsh’s global placement technology product suite. This role owns the end-to-end product vision for the Broker Companion platform and its constituent capabilities, enabling brokers worldwide to identify, structure, place, and bind risk more effectively. The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, brokerage workflow, and modern data and technology, and requires senior stakeholder coordination across Marsh Risk leadership globally.
We will count on you to:
- Define and own the global placement product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap in partnership with Global Placement Product, Technology and Data Strategy program leadership and Marsh Risk COO.
- Translate placement business strategy into a sequenced product roadmap with clear outcome hypotheses, success metrics, and value cases.
- Lead the shift from spot solutions to deployment at scale by designing product architecture and configuration frameworks that enable regional deployment by configuration rather than net-new development.
- Identify and size new product opportunities using broker workflow data, client feedback, market intelligence, and competitive context; develop business cases linked to audited value realization.
- Recommend and direct investment prioritization across the portfolio, balancing regional demand, global platform investments, third-party solutions, and platform modernization within the approved annual Placement Technology budget.
- Support the governance model for the Placement Technology Program, including geography/segment SteerCos and a central Control Tower for integrated visibility of roadmap, delivery, adoption, and outcomes.
- Lead the Product Management team operating rhythm, including OKRs, roadmap reviews, discovery, backlog refinement, release planning, adoption planning, and value-realization tracking.
- Lead the Product Design team to deliver target-state journeys and service blueprints grounded in broker, distributor, and operations workflows; build reusable design systems and development-ready components.
- Direct the ring-fenced Placement Product Engineering team and partner with Placement Data to build and run placement data domains to the standard required for AI-enabled broker capabilities.
- Run a disciplined co-creation model with Marsh Risk business partners, manage delivery risks and dependencies, and build executive-ready communications including SteerCo packs, decision memos, dashboards, risk reporting, and value-realization narratives.
- Align senior stakeholders across global, regional, practice, product line, and segment leadership; communicate trade-offs clearly and drive shared accountability for outcomes.
- Represent Marsh placement product capabilities externally and partner with insurance carriers and technology vendors to onboard integrations and govern ongoing integration quality and change management.
What you need to have:
- Typically 12+ years of experience spanning product leadership, digital solution delivery, enterprise technology, or strategy within complex, regulated environments; significant experience in insurance brokerage/insurtech or adjacent financial services.
- Deep domain fluency in insurance placement, including submission-to-bind workflows, carrier/market negotiation, facility and program structures, binder issuance, policy servicing, and brokerage operating realities across Retail, Wholesale, and Specialty.
- Proven track record leading large-scale, cross-functional product programs from discovery through scaled deployment, with measurable outcomes and audited value realization.
- Demonstrated ability to align complex, multi-geography senior stakeholder groups.
- Command of modern product management practices, including outcome-driven roadmapping, OKRs, discovery, backlog management, agile/iterative delivery, adoption planning, and product telemetry.
- Experience leading and developing globally distributed product and design teams, with strong people leadership, performance management, and talent development capability.
- Strong commercial acumen, including owning product business cases, managing investment portfolios, and linking product decisions to NOI, revenue, growth, and cost efficiency.
- Exceptional executive communication skills to distill complex programs into clear, decision-ready narratives for COO/President-level audiences.
What makes you stand out:
- Experience with placement technology platforms and their integration architectures.
- Experience leading product strategies across multiple insurance product lines, including Property, Casualty, Specialty, FinPro, Cyber, Marine, and Aviation.
- Familiarity with Lloyd’s/London market digital trading infrastructure and carrier integration patterns for US and international markets.
- Experience applying domain-driven design, data mesh, or data product thinking in complex, multi-geography brokerage or financial services platforms.
- Hands-on experience using modern AI-assisted tools to accelerate prototyping, discovery, and iteration with business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of pricing/rating concepts, fiduciary and billing workflows, and post-bind policy servicing as potential future scope areas.
- Relevant advanced certifications or comparable demonstrated expertise.
Why join our team:
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
- We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
- Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
