Room Attendant | Marriott Colorado Springs
There is a moment every guest experiences when they open the door to their room for the first time. The bed is perfectly made. The bathroom is spotless. Everything is exactly where it should be. The space feels fresh, cared for, and ready. Without knowing a single detail about what went into preparing it, they feel taken care of. That moment belongs to you.
We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and people-first Room Attendant to join our Housekeeping team at the Marriott Colorado Springs. If you take genuine pride in doing things right, find satisfaction in a room that is truly guest-ready from top to bottom, and want to be part of a team that values the work you bring every single day, this is the place for you.
About the Role
As a Room Attendant, you are one of the most important people in this entire hotel. The cleanliness, comfort, and presentation of our guest rooms is one of the top reasons guests choose to return to the Marriott Colorado Springs and recommend us to the people they care about. Every room you prepare is a direct reflection of the standard we hold and the promise we make to every person who stays with us.
You will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning and restocking a required number of guest rooms each shift, meeting brand and property standards from setup to breakdown, and approaching every room with the same level of care and attention to detail regardless of how busy the day gets. You will also encounter guests regularly throughout your shift, and the warmth, professionalism, and genuine helpfulness you bring to those interactions matter just as much as the quality of your cleans.
This role includes both standard room turns and deep cleaning responsibilities. Deep cleaning tasks may include changing AC filters, cleaning AC coils, touching up paint on walls and molding, addressing scratched furniture, and rehanging closet slide doors. Once trained to property standards, Room Attendants are expected to complete a full room clean in approximately 35 minutes and a refresh in approximately 7 minutes.
This role also comes with a real pathway for growth. Room Attendants who demonstrate skill, consistency, and commitment have the opportunity to advance into self-inspector roles and beyond within the organization. We invest in the people who show up and show what they are capable of.
Weekend availability is required for this role. Our guests need the same exceptional experience seven days a week, and our team makes that possible.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Thoroughly cleaning and restocking the required number of guest rooms per shift to Marriott and Pyramid Global Hospitality brand standards
- Completing all pre-cleaning duties including setting up your housekeeping cart with the correct guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen before beginning your assignment
- Removing all trash and dirty linen from guest rooms and collecting soiled linens for laundering
- Making beds, replenishing room supplies and amenities, and restoring every room to a guest-ready condition that reflects the standard our guests expect
- Performing deep cleaning tasks as assigned, including changing AC filters, cleaning AC coils, touching up paint and molding, addressing furniture, and rehanging closet doors
- Disassembling furniture or room items as needed to conduct thorough deep cleaning
- Completing a full room clean to standard in approximately 35 minutes and a refresh in approximately 7 minutes once trained
- Keeping your housekeeping cart orderly, properly stocked, and maintained throughout your entire shift
- Using all equipment, supplies, and guest amenities properly and responsibly
- Inspecting completed rooms before marking them clean to ensure every detail meets the standard; self-accountability in quality is a core part of this role
- Following daily linen and towel changing and inspection standards in accordance with the Green Program
- Practicing safety standards throughout your shift and reporting any hazards including broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, or suspicious persons immediately to your supervisor
- Reporting maintenance needs, damaged items, and room condition concerns to your supervisor promptly
- Respecting guest property at all times and exercising discretion and care in every room you enter
- Maintaining key control practices and supporting the property’s security procedures throughout your shift
- Engaging with guests you encounter during your shift in a warm, courteous, and genuinely helpful manner
- Reporting to work on time according to the posted schedule and maintaining accurate time records
- Collaborating with your housekeeping teammates, laundry, and maintenance to support the overall operation
- Remaining alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times throughout your shift
- Performing other related duties as requested by your Floor Supervisor or housekeeping leadership
What We’re Looking For
- A strong attention to detail; you notice what others miss and you take the time to get it right before marking a room complete
- A genuine work ethic and the ability to maintain quality and pace for the full duration of a physical shift
- Reliability and punctuality; your team and your guests count on you to be there and to be ready
- A warm and professional demeanor with guests and fellow team members at all times
- The ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently
- Comfort working independently and managing your time effectively to meet room readiness targets
- A team-first mindset; housekeeping is a collaborative operation and your contribution matters to everyone around you
- Respect for guest privacy and property in every room you enter
- Weekend availability is required; this is a non-negotiable part of the role
- Previous hotel experience is preferred but not required; we will train the right person who brings the right attitude
What are we looking for?
Qualifications
- Previous hotel housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to thoroughly clean and restock a required number of rooms per shift to brand standard
- Ability to operate housekeeping equipment including vacuums, mops, spray bottles, scrub pads, and dusters correctly and responsibly
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and following proper safety and SDS handling procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active on your feet for the full duration of a shift
- Ability to push and maneuver a fully stocked housekeeping cart weighing up to 100 lbs. in tight spaces
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs. as needed
- Comfortable with bending, reaching, stretching, kneeling, and climbing stairs throughout the shift
- Ability to disassemble furniture or room items as needed to complete deep cleaning assignments
- Weekend availability is required for this position
- Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Marriott brand standards
Physical Requirements
This is a highly physical, active role for the full duration of every shift. You should be comfortable standing and moving continuously, bending and reaching to clean at floor level and overhead, kneeling and stretching to service all areas of a guest room thoroughly, pushing and maneuvering carts up to 100 lbs., lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs., and climbing stairs as needed throughout the property. Physical stamina, consistency of pace, and comfort with sustained activity are all important parts of performing this role well.
Who Thrives Here
The Room Attendants who do their best work here are the ones who take real personal pride in every room they complete. They do not rush through a checklist. They walk through a finished room with a critical eye because they genuinely want it to be right before a guest walks in. They treat every space they enter with care and respect. They communicate clearly with their supervisor and their team. They show up consistently, work with purpose, and bring a steady, positive presence to the floor every single shift.
They also understand what their work means. A guest who walks into a perfectly prepared room feels it immediately, even if they cannot name exactly why. That feeling is the result of your care, your attention to detail, and your commitment to a standard that matters. When that work is done well, it is something genuinely worth being proud of.
