- Checking electrical panels, field wiring, instrumentation and control equipment.
- Reviewing schematics, cable schedules, I/O lists and functional descriptions.
- Performing point-to-point checks and loop testing.
- Testing PLC, SCADA and HMI functionality.
- Identifying faults and resolving hardware, software or communications issues.
- Supporting factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests.
- Commissioning systems on customer and project sites.
- Working with electrical, mechanical, software and process-engineering teams.
- Modifying control parameters and supporting software changes.
- Producing commissioning reports, test records and handover documentation.

- Sensors, transmitters and instrumentation.
- Variable-frequency drives and motor-control equipment.
- Industrial communications networks.
- Electrical control panels.
- Safety systems and interlocks.
- Building, energy or process-control systems.
Your profile
We would like to hear from engineers with experience in industrial automation, electrical controls or commissioning.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Process and manufacturing facilities.
- Energy and utility projects.
- Water treatment.
- Building automation.
- Marine and offshore systems.
- Logistics and material handling.
- Renewable energy and battery storage.
- Industrial machinery and equipment.
Suitable candidates are likely to have:
- Experience testing or commissioning automated systems.
- Knowledge of electrical drawings and control schematics.
- Familiarity with PLC, SCADA or industrial control systems.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently at project sites.
- Confidence communicating with customers, contractors and technical teams.
- A qualification in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics or a related discipline.
Experience with Siemens, Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, ABB or similar control platforms may be advantageous, although the required technology will vary between opportunities.
Location and travel
Opportunities will be centred around Rotterdam, with potential travel to customer sites elsewhere in the Netherlands and occasionally across Europe.
Candidates based in Rotterdam, Delft, The Hague, Dordrecht, Gouda or nearby areas may be suitable.
Some positions may involve regular travel, overnight stays or periods on commissioning sites. Travel expectations will be explained clearly before your profile is submitted.
Employment terms
Salary, travel allowance, company vehicle, overtime, pension, holiday entitlement and other benefits will vary by employer.
Full details will be discussed before your information is shared for any opportunity.
Applications are welcomed from experienced commissioning professionals and from electrical or automation engineers looking to move into a more site-focused role.
