Division
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley’s various industry and government regulators and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley’s various businesses and its senior management team.
Department
The Legal Entity External Reporting Controllers team is responsible for the production of high quality financial reporting for the Firm’s legal entities, including the preparation of: audited and unaudited statutory financial statements; management accounts; US Federal Reserve entity level reporting; and other reporting for senior management when requested.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for leading Financial and Regulatory Reporting function within Mumbai.
- Act as the local point person in Mumbai for the Reporting team, who works with local leadership teams in managing the location and logistical dependencies related to the team (e.g., space/ seats, hiring/ onboarding/ training, parallel run, dual operations etc.).
- Functionally responsible for the timely production of a range of reporting for legal entities for presentation to senior management, while ensuring compliance with the relevant reporting control framework, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal policy.
- Responsible for agreeing and complying with requirements set out in Service Level Agreements, covering services provided to the Legal Entity Management teams supported by the function.
- Actively leading transformation including automation through use of Digital tools, AI, process improvement etc.
- Participation in the development of the Legal Entity Controller function, including identifying process improvement opportunities within the Reporting function; driving the delivery of initiatives and projects related to process or entity-specific requirements; and responding to new or emerging external reporting requirements.
- Overall responsibility for key internal and external stakeholder relationships maintained by the local management team.
