JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Abington's Counseling Services office is seeking a part-time graduate counseling practicum student for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
Job Duties
Typical job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provides individual and group counseling to students.
- Provides outreach workshops and programming to campus community.
- Maintains up-to-date clinical documentation via our electronic recordkeeping system.
- Consults with supervisors and staff as needed.
- Acts as a liaison between client and campus or community resources as needed.
- Represents the department at campus events as needed.
- Interacts with staff and students in a professional and ethical manner.
- Participates in supervision and training with an openness to learning and receiving feedback.
- Collaborate with student clubs to develop mental health programming.
- Maintain confidential documentation and information.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Candidate must be working toward completion of a graduate degree in counseling or related field.
Hours for this opening are typically scheduled between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, some evenings and weekends up to 20 hours per week. For full consideration, please submit a completed application, resume and cover letter.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
