Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider

Responsibilities

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In this dynamic setting, you will evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute conditions for both adult and pediatric patients, including those in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) guided by evidence-based protocols.

 

A minimum of one year of direct experience in an acute, urgent care, or emergency care setting is required.

 

You will be joining a highly functioning, collaborative Emergency Medicine team that values collegiality, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to exceptional patient care. Our providers work closely together across disciplines in a supportive environment that encourages open communication, teamwork, and continuous learning. What This Position Offers:

• Independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide variety of acute conditions through thoughtful use of diagnostic testing and clinical assessment
• Collaborate with specialists across disciplines to ensure timely, coordinated, and comprehensive patient care
• Perform procedures within scope of practice, supporting efficient and high-quality emergency care delivery
• Initiate and manage medication therapies in partnership with nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Lead and support safe, appropriate patient disposition planning, including discharge and admission decisions
• Deliver care across a range of ED settings—including Fast Track, Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), and the main Emergency Department—providing a varied, fast-paced, and highly engaging clinical experience

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRNs only)
• Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH and VT
• Eligible for Federal DEA Registration
• BLS certification
• ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP as appropriate
• Minimum of one year of direct experience in an acute, urgent care, or emergency care setting is highly preferred
