As part of the Qualys Engineering team, you will design and build highly scalable, microservices-based web applications powered by robust Java backend services and modern frontend technologies. You’ll work across the stack—leveraging technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Cassandra, Oracle, Elasticsearch, Redis, and React.js—to deliver secure, performant, and user-friendly solutions at scale.
You will collaborate closely with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams to translate customer needs into intuitive, cross-browser web experiences with rich user interactions. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver web-based applications and backend services
Build and ship new features and enhancements in a fast-paced, agile environment
Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to refine and implement product requirements
Mentor and guide team members on web development, backend design, and system architecture
Continuously evaluate and improve architecture, performance, scalability, and user experience
Apply object-oriented design principles and best practices (e.g., SOLID, DRY)
Research emerging technologies and contribute to their adoption in new or existing products
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in Java backend development
Strong proficiency in Java (8/11/17), Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs
Hands-on experience with distributed event streaming platforms such as Kafka
Working knowledge of Elasticsearch
Experience with distributed caching systems (e.g., Redis)
Exposure to Oracle databases
Solid understanding of data structures and distributed systems
