About this role

About the Team

The Alternatives Client Platform (ACP) is BlackRock's global engine for client experience across our $350B+ Private Markets business, spanning Hedge Funds, Real Estate, Private Equity, Multi-Alternatives, and Infrastructure. Operating across six offices—Atlanta, New York, Seattle, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, and Mumbai—ACP delivers a unified, scalable service model that powers investor reporting, investor inquiries, and fundraising support for one of the firm's fastest-growing platforms.

ACP partners closely with investment teams, product specialists, and operations partners around the world to transform complex investment and fund data into high-quality client deliverables. Through a combination of deep product expertise, global coordination, and a strong focus on innovation—including the use of data and AI to scale our capabilities—ACP is shaping the future of how alternatives content is produced and delivered to clients.

Position overview:

We are seeking a Vice President to join the Alternatives Client Platform, supporting Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP)—BlackRock's infrastructure investment platform and one of the world's leading independent infrastructure investors. Reporting locally to the Head of ACP Asia-Pacific, this role will focus on supporting GIP's growing client base across Japan and the broader APAC region, partnering with investment, product, and client teams to deliver high-quality content production, investor reporting, and fundraising support tailored to local client needs.

This is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of investments, client experience, and technology—helping scale a recently integrated, high-growth business in one of GIP's most strategically important regions, while building deep expertise in infrastructure as an asset class.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Servicing

  • Serve as the trusted point of contact connecting BlackRock teams around the globe—including Product Strategy, Capital Formation, and Private Markets Operations—to support clients throughout their Alternatives journey, from pre-win activities (such as due diligence and RFPs) through ongoing servicing.

  • Partner with Client Experience Management ("CEM") and Client Business teams to deliver exceptional and consistent service for clients investing in Alternatives funds, driving transparency and execution in all client interactions.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational issues and continuously enhance the client experience.

Content Production & Client Presentation

  • Operate as a subject matter expert on client reporting for Alternatives portfolios, including production of quarterly reporting deliverables, portfolio updates, and bespoke client-requested reports, with translation of materials from English to Japanese as required.

  • Prepare and deliver client-facing presentations as needed, including portfolio updates and performance reviews, presenting directly to clients in Japanese alongside Product Strategy and Client Business partners.

  • Evaluate and address reporting requirements across APAC jurisdictions, including the development of regulatory reporting frameworks to meet local compliance needs.

  • Leverage APAC-specific knowledge to partner with global support teams on the implementation of new strategies and pipeline products, ensuring seamless delivery to clients.

Scale, Innovation & Process Excellence

  • Implement best practices and process enhancements to streamline bespoke client requests and improve delivery efficiency.

  • Partner with technology and data teams to embed AI and automation into the operating model—improving data collection, reporting output, and client experience at scale.

  • Contribute to global initiatives that standardize delivery while accommodating regional, language, and regulatory nuances

Qualifications:

  • Five or more (5+) years of direct experience in private markets within an asset management or institutional allocator organization, and seven or more (7+) years of overall financial services experience.

  • Infrastructure debt or equity experience preferred.

  • Detailed knowledge of closed-end, LP drawdown fund structures and how those fund structures operate.

  • Familiarity with common private fund legal documents, including PPMs, LPAs, subscription documents, and side letter agreements.

  • Proven understanding of key performance and risk metrics used to measure private fund performance.

  • Working knowledge of the APAC private markets regulatory landscape, including jurisdiction-specific reporting and disclosure requirements.

  • Proven track record of collaborating across internal stakeholders—regionally and globally—including investment, product, and client-facing teams.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes clearly to both internal and external audiences.

  • Experience with data coordination, analysis, and aggregation to support client deliverables and bespoke inquiries, with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in parallel, consistently delivering high-quality insights and outputs in a fast-paced environment.

  • High proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and data manipulation to support client inquiries and reporting deliverables.

  • Strong proficiency in Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to create clear, client-ready visuals and presentations.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize information, identify key issues, and summarize insights for senior stakeholders.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Japanese required.
