[What the role is]
Jurong Lake Gardens is Singapore’s third National Garden and serving the recreational, lifestyle and community needs of residents in the western heartlands.We are seeking a senior and experienced officer to join our leadership team as Deputy Director, overseeing facilities management, security, sustainability and Living Lab initiatives across a large and complex garden estate with diverse amenities and infrastructure.
This is a hands on leadership role for an experienced professional who thrives at the intersection of estate stewardship, public safety, asset lifecycle management and innovation, and who is motivated by managing high footfall public spaces that must perform reliably every day.
[What you will be working on]
Estate, Facilities and Asset Leadership
Lead end‑to‑end planning and delivery of preventive, corrective and cyclical maintenance, as well as asset renewal programmes across buildings, landscape assets and specialised infrastructure.
Oversee the management of complex assets such as Mass Engineered Timber structures, water features, pond and pump systems, irrigation networks, play equipment and integrated garden management systems.
Drive risk‑based, lifecycle‑oriented asset strategies to enhance reliability, safety, performance and long‑term sustainability.
Security and Emergency Preparedness
Provide leadership over security operations and service providers to maintain a safe and secure environment for visitors, staff and stakeholders.
Develop and implement security strategies, deployment plans and operational response measures.
Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including table‑top and ground deployment exercises, incident management, reviews and continuous improvement.
Budget, Project and Contract Management
Oversee maintenance and project budgets across multiple funding sources, ensuring robust planning, prioritisation and value‑for‑money outcomes.
Lead contract management, including performance reviews, service quality assurance and contract administration.
Guide project implementation from planning through delivery, ensuring operational readiness and sustainability outcomes.
Sustainability and Living Lab
Lead the Sustainability and Living Lab portfolio by identifying, trialling and evaluating new technologies, sustainable solutions and operating models for the Gardens.
Oversee innovation pilots with internal and external partners, translating successful trials into practical, scalable operations where appropriate.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and learning within the estate operations teams.
Digital Asset Management and Data‑Driven Operations
Drive the use of GIS‑enabled asset management and geo‑database systems to support planning and estate intelligence.
Strengthen asset data governance, performance monitoring and analysis to inform maintenance strategies, design reviews and lifecycle budgeting.
Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across facilities, security, sustainability and innovation functions.
Work closely with internal divisions, government agencies, contractors and partners to deliver integrated estate outcomes.
Represent Jurong Lake Gardens in discussions on operations, asset planning, service delivery and innovation initiatives.
You may be required to undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
[What we are looking for]
Area of study in Facilities Management, Estate Management, Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in estate or facilities management, security operations, asset management, project delivery and contract management.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex, public‑facing operational environments.
Strong grounding in asset lifecycle management, maintenance strategies, budgeting and contract governance.
Experience with specialised infrastructure, digital asset systems, sustainability initiatives or GIS platforms will be an advantage.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate data into operational decisions.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Willingness to be site‑based, conduct inspections and support after‑hours operations when required.
