Job Description :
The Learning Content Designer collaborates with leaders, managers, colleagues, and staff to develop and implement high-quality training content designed to optimize the expertise, capability, and performance of individuals, work groups, work processes, and the overall organization. This position will develop content for e-learning and instructor-led/virtual delivery, applying best practices of instructional and visual design and a working knowledge of storyboarding, technical communications, graphics, and video development. The position will also closely collaborate with internal partners to ensure that the deliverables are aligned closely with the overall needs of the organization.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, E-learning, Human Resources Development, I/O Psychology, Business or equivalent experience with courses taken in instructional design
Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred):
Instructional design or e-learning-related certification (e.g., ATD, etc.) is preferred.
Related Work Experience and Other Skills:
3+ years working with instructional design principles and practices including adult learning theories, interactive training and learning design principles to support synchronous and asynchronous strategies, needs analysis, content development and testing, and evaluation
Solid working knowledge of authoring and software tools that exemplify good practices in instructional design (such as Articulate, Captivate, Vyond, etc.)
Workday Learning Experience, preferred
Related Work Experience and Other Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design/development tools and strategies and effective delivery and evaluation methods.
Prior experience with virtual learning environments, learning technology infrastructure and eLearning industry standards
Solid competency in large group facilitation and session planning, and the design and delivery of learning interventions. 2+ years training delivery/facilitation experience, preferred
Demonstrated ability to identify and define problems, collect and analyze data, establish root cause, and identify and implement optimal solutions
Strong ability to make complex concepts easy to understand and relevant for diverse audiences
Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work cooperatively across organizational boundaries and provide exceptional internal and external customer service
Ability to effectively prioritize, manage and execute simultaneous tasks, projects, and programs
Experience effectively consulting and partnering with leaders at all levels, including executives
Ability to think strategically and systemically and achieve results collaborating across organizational boundaries
Knowledge of current trends and practices in the areas of adult learning, instructional design, and HR development and a commitment to continuous learning, innovation and growth
Experience in role of this type in a healthcare environment, preferred
Working knowledge of Workday ERP, preferred
Working knowledge of Epilogue Opus, preferred
Job Roles
Perform (or support) scoping and needs analysis for moderate to complex instructional design projects with defined timelines and/or multiple deliverables. Maintain direct and consistent contact and communication with key stakeholders throughout the project cycle. Demonstrate understanding of requestor’s culture and business goals and how they relate to priorities and decisions.
Demonstrate exemplary flexibility in adapting to internal or external-driven project changes/redirection. Influence stakeholders to support training recommendations. Raise issues and propose solutions to issues that others are reluctant to address.
Design and implement effective measurement techniques for learning solutions that accurately measure the value or impact of the solution on business results.
Engage in continuous learning about industry best practices, cutting-edge trends and approaches and integrate these approaches into learning solutions.
This includes researching and benchmarking against other organizations.
Contribute to the marketing, promotion, and execution of learning activities, as well as Talent Development team-sponsored initiatives and programs.
Facilitate the delivery of learning interventions as needed.
