Decoration Buyer

An exciting opportunity awaits for a driven and detail-oriented professional to join a dynamic FMCG manufacturing environment as a Decoration Buyer. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, supporting production requirements, and maintaining strong supplier relationships

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating decoration requirements, managing stock levels, monitoring supplier performance, and supporting the business in achieving efficient and cost-effective procurement outcomes. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following outputs:

• Identify and expedite all decoration requirements for on-site and off-site production facilities
• Issue daily schedules for raw material requirements
• Provide decoration stock updates to the customer and sales teams
• Monitor slow-moving and dead stock
• Maintain and manage the decoration back-order report
• Manage quality incidents with suppliers, including defective stock and colour variations
• Manage pricing with various decoration suppliers and relevant sales representatives
• Manage artwork changeovers, ensuring depletion of old artwork before introducing new artwork
• Maintain artwork files and registers, including updating files with new artwork, removing old artwork, and ensuring that the business has two signed hard copies of each label
• Monitor monthly stock levels in line with business parameters
• Advise Production and Planners of any exceptions that may be necessary for new products
• Prepare and maintain supplier OTIF reporting

To be considered for this position applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Supply Chain or Commercial Degree is essential in this role
• 2–3 years buying experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
• Excellent numeracy and planning skills
• High attention to detail, self-discipline, and a customer-focused approach
• Analytical and logical thinker
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
• Strong communication skills and networking ability
• Ability to make tough decisions
• Able to multitask and think on their feet
• Positive “can-do” attitude
