Job Summary
As a Civil/Structural Engineer or Designer, you will contribute to the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions for energy and infrastructure projects. Working as part of multidisciplinary project teams, you will support projects through various stages of development, from concept and preliminary design through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning. Depending on experience level, the role may include increasing responsibility for technical delivery, design coordination, project execution, and mentoring of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design

• Develop, review, and coordinate civil and structural engineering designs for energy and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and other project deliverables.
• Design and detail foundations, steel and reinforced concrete structures, equipment supports, buildings, site infrastructure, and related civil works as applicable to project requirements.
• Apply relevant engineering principles, codes, standards, specifications, and project requirements.
• Interpret and incorporate geotechnical, survey, equipment, architectural, and other technical information into engineering designs.
• Support constructability, value engineering, and design optimization initiatives.

Project Delivery & Coordination

• Coordinate civil and structural activities with other engineering disciplines to ensure effective integration of project requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and technical discussions with project teams and clients.
• Support project delivery in accordance with established scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and site activities as required.
• Identify design issues, interfaces, and technical risks and assist with developing practical engineering solutions.

Technical Leadership & Development

• For Intermediate and Senior roles, take increasing responsibility for planning and coordinating discipline deliverables and technical activities.
• For Senior roles, provide technical leadership, review and approve discipline deliverables, and coordinate civil/structural engineering activities across complex projects.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Contribute to engineering standards, procedures, design practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support proposals, estimates, technical scopes, and other business development activities as appropriate to the role.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure engineering and design work complies with applicable legislation, codes, standards, client requirements, and company procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance and technical checking processes appropriate to the level of responsibility.
• Incorporate health, safety, environmental, and constructability considerations into engineering solutions.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and support effective document control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Skills
Junior Civil/Structural Engineer or Designer

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, as appropriate to the role.
• Less than 3 years of relevant experience in civil/structural engineering or design.
• Basic understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, design practices, and applicable codes and standards.
• Ability to develop engineering calculations, drawings, models, and technical documentation under appropriate supervision.
• Familiarity with common engineering design, analysis, BIM/CAD, and documentation tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment.

Intermediate Civil/Structural Engineer or Designer

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, as appropriate to the role.
• 4–9 years of relevant civil/structural engineering or design experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering civil and structural engineering or design work for energy, infrastructure, industrial, or related projects.
• Good working knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, specifications, and design practices.
• Ability to independently develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating technical interfaces with other disciplines and supporting project delivery.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering design, analysis, BIM/CAD, and project documentation software.

Senior Civil/Structural Engineer or Designer

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, as appropriate to the role; advanced qualifications are advantageous.
• 10+ years of relevant civil/structural engineering or design experience.
• Extensive experience delivering and coordinating civil/structural engineering for energy, infrastructure, industrial, or other complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, specifications, and design practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical activities, coordinate discipline deliverables, and provide technical direction to engineering and design teams.
• Experience reviewing and approving technical deliverables and resolving complex engineering and interdisciplinary issues.
• Strong understanding of project execution, constructability, quality, safety, cost, and schedule considerations.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering design, analysis, BIM/CAD, and project documentation software.
• Strong communication, leadership, technical judgment, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Professional engineering registration or equivalent qualification is preferred for engineering positions where applicable.
