Quality Supervisor

Description

This position is responsible for ensuring that the manufactured products meet the standards of quality, reliability, and performance.  Candidate will lead a team working on 3 shifts; this is an on-site position.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Assist in establishing quality procedures, standards, and specifications for the company.
• Assist in setting the requirements for raw materials from suppliers via Purchasing Specifications. Monitor supplier compliance. Complete Vendor Defect Material Reports. 
• Collaborate with the procurement function and Product Engineering to ensure raw materials and purchased parts from external suppliers meet the quality requirements. 
• Ensure that the manufacturing processes follow both national and international standards of production.
• Issue Quality Bulletins, Quality Alerts and training.
• Collect, compile, and analyze relevant quality statistical data to obtain information regarding quality performance.
• Coordinate production testing to confirm products produced meets required quality standards.
• Supervise quality technicians to ensure they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.
• Assist to review existing process and product specifications to identify the need for improvement or upgrades.
• Scrap reporting for facility and reporting to parent company in Japan.
• Participate in all audits – customer, internal and external (ISO), etc. 
• Control and oversee the MRR system. Checks, reports, dispositions, corrective actions, etc.
• Oversee document control and logging of training.
• Oversee Calibration system and incoming processes.
• Oversee Corrective Action issuance and tracking. 
• Recommend ways to improve upon existing quality processes.
• Recommend ways to decrease costs and reduce scrap.
• Ensure safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Other reporting and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach and lead a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work and manage priorities in a changing environment; must be able to promote suggestions to assist in the creation of an efficient workflow and be interested in growth opportunities within the department.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills required.

Education and Experience:

• College degree or equivalent
• 3 - 5+ years related experience required. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to work in a hot, humid environment on occasion.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
