A little about the role

As a Project Manager within Capricorn’s Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), you’ll lead assigned projects from initiation and planning through to delivery and closure. You’ll establish clear scope, governance and project controls, while actively managing time, cost, quality, risk, budgets, dependencies and delivery outcomes.

Working closely with sponsors, senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you’ll keep stakeholders informed through regular reporting, governance forums and proactive issue resolution. Projects may include IT technology, infrastructure and business improvement initiatives, so your ability to engage, communicate and guide teams through successful delivery will be key.

What you’ll bring

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager who brings structure, accountability and sound judgement to complex delivery environments. You'll be confident working across business and technology stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams and keeping decision-makers informed through clear governance, controls and reporting.

What’s essential

• At least five years' experience planning, leading and managing complex projects to successful outcomes within approved scope, time, cost, quality and risk tolerances.

• At least five years' experience leading cross-functional project teams of five or more people, including internal contributors, business representatives, technology resources and external suppliers where applicable.

• Strong project governance and control capability, including project initiation, detailed planning, status reporting and the management of risks, issues, actions, decisions, dependencies, budgets and scope.

• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build commitment across diverse stakeholder groups.

• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to manage project budgets, forecasts, expenditure and variances.

• A strong understanding of information security, data governance and privacy requirements as they apply to project delivery.

• Demonstrated ability to manage suppliers and vendors, including procurement activities, contract administration and performance monitoring.

Highly regarded

• Experience with, or a reasonable understanding of the language and terminology associated with SQL database related technologies.

• Knowledge of organisational change management practices, such as Prosci ADKAR or an equivalent approach.

• Sound knowledge of contemporary IT technologies, standards and best practices.

• Understanding of the Financial Services industry, including its regulatory environment, operational considerations and business practices.

• Proficiency with project and collaboration tools, including JIRA, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 products such as Teams and Project.

Qualifications

A practitioner-level project management certification and/or relevant tertiary qualification in project management, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM Practitioner, PMP or an equivalent recognised certification, is required.
