Program Overview
Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for students across select programs. Placements are determined during the interview process based on availability, academic requirements, and your individual experience.
We collaborate with you and your academic program to design an internship that fits your practicum needs and class schedule to ensure you can obtain course credit. Additionally, internships can serve as a valuable opportunity to gain professional experience beyond an academic requirement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Development Intern will:
Assist with active campaigns (primarily Holiday Heroes and Impact Hour events).
Work on preparation work for the annual golf fundraiser.
Holiday Heroes Administrator: This position supports Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee's largest campaign of the year, Holiday Heroes, through the distribution of wish lists, gift tracking and sponsor correspondence to ensure all the kids in Youth Villages’ programs receive gifts for the holidays. This year we expect to match over 3,000 kids with sponsors (sponsors = individual community shoppers).
Tasks:
Review wish lists as they submitted and check for missing information (sizes, ages, sibling names), inappropriate items, items that are too expensive
Communicate with counselors regarding wish lists with missing informatio, and/or questions about youth or wish list items
Help with bag check and counselor pickups
Other duites to help with the facilitation of Holiday Heroes
Impact Hour Campaign Support: This position would also support our Ready, LifeSet, Go! Campaign that launches during our Impact Hour event which is our largest in person fundraising event of the year.
Assist with Event Management
Vendor coordination and run of show planning
Administer peer to peer campaigns
Assist with silent auction items & auction execution
Youth Villages Golf Classic: Assist with sponsorship communications, vendors and event logistics.
Pre & Post event communications
Vendor & sponsor communications
Event logistics, including printing, invoicing, etc
Qualifications:
Actively pursuing a Master's degree in public relations, nonprofit management, marketing, sales, or communication (preferred) OR
Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in the above programs (required)
Skills needed:
Mail Merge
Simple Excel functions
Ability to lift and move gifts up to 25lbs.
Salesforce knowledge is a plus
