APM Terminals

At APM Terminals, we are transforming how we manage, maintain, and optimize the assets that power global trade.

We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary leader to take on the role of Team Lead, Global Aftermarket Category Management, a strategic leadership position within our Asset Strategy & Strategic Partnerships organization.

This is an opportunity to influence how one of the world's leading terminal operators maximizes asset performance, improves equipment reliability, strengthens global supplier partnerships, and delivers superior lifecycle value across a network spanning more than 70 terminals worldwide.

You will lead a team of category professionals responsible for developing and executing aftermarket strategies covering spare parts, services, maintenance solutions, and long-term supplier partnerships that keep our operations running safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving - observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.
What We Can Offer
At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.
• Lead global aftermarket strategies that influence operations across more than 70 container terminals worldwide.
• Shape long-term supplier partnerships and future aftermarket support models through collaboration and innovation.
• Work in a highly international environment with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and global teams.
• Develop people, build capability, and contribute to continuous improvement across a complex asset-intensive network.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and drive global spare parts strategies to support terminal operations and asset performance.
• Develop service and maintenance contracting strategies that deliver value, continuity, and operational reliability.
• Lead supplier performance management programs, including accountability frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimize inventory management, replenishment processes, and lifecycle cost reduction activities across the network.
• Drive standardization and harmonization efforts to improve efficiency and consistency across terminals.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with OEMs, service providers, and key suppliers, including long-term framework agreements and negotiations.
• Lead a global team of category management professionals, supporting performance, engagement, succession planning, and capability development.
What We Are Looking For:
• Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset, curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
• Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
• Extensive experience managing strategic supplier relationships and delivering value through supplier partnerships.
• Strong commercial negotiation capabilities with experience developing long-term agreements and managing complex supplier environments.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in multinational organizations and influence senior stakeholders across regions and functions.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and change leadership skills, with experience driving transformation initiatives in complex business environments.
• Experience within asset-intensive industries such as ports, shipping, logistics, rail, aviation, mining, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or heavy equipment is highly advantageous.
In this role, you will take ownership of the global aftermarket strategy supporting a large and complex terminal network. You will work at the intersection of procurement, asset management, maintenance, operations, and supplier management, helping ensure critical equipment and services remain available to support safe and efficient operations.
Success in this position requires a balance of strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and people leadership. You will identify opportunities to reduce lifecycle costs, improve supplier performance, optimize inventory strategies, and strengthen long-term partnerships that support operational excellence. At the same time, you will play a key role in developing future leaders and fostering collaboration across regions and functions.
You may come from procurement, category management, supply chain, engineering, maintenance, asset management, or operations. Regardless of your background, you will bring the ability to navigate complexity, influence stakeholders, and deliver sustainable business outcomes while building strong relationships across a global organization.
