Why Join
As an AML Advisory Specialist, you play a critical role in safeguarding OCBC and its customers against money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions breaches, and other financial crime risks. You will partner closely with Business Units and stakeholders to provide risk-based AML/CFT advisory, support regulatory compliance, and strengthen the Bank's financial crime risk management framework.
This is a challenging and rewarding role for individuals who have a strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations, possess sound risk assessment capabilities, and are passionate about driving effective compliance outcomes while enabling responsible business growth.
How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to maintain a strong understanding of evolving AML/CFT regulations, regulatory expectations, and emerging financial crime typologies. You will work collaboratively with Business Units, FCC stakeholders, and regional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate AML/CFT and sanctions risks.
Your success will be driven by your ability to provide practical risk-based advice, exercise sound judgment on complex customer and transaction risk matters, and balance regulatory compliance with business objectives.
What You Do
Provide risk-based AML/CFT and financial crime compliance advisory to business units, balancing regulatory requirements with business objectives.
Assess higher-risk customer relationships, transactions, products, and business initiatives, and provide recommendations to manage financial crime risks effectively.
Partner with business and control functions to identify emerging financial crime risks and develop practical risk mitigation measures.
Advise stakeholders on AML/CFT regulatory requirements, including interpretation and application of policies and procedures.
Support the implementation of new regulations, policies, and regulatory expectations, providing guidance to ensure effective adoption across the business.
Challenge and provide independent risk assessments on customer onboarding, transactions, and business activities involving higher financial crime risks.
Participate in projects, product launches, and process change initiatives, providing compliance input to ensure risks are appropriately identified and mitigated.
Monitor financial crime risk trends, regulatory developments, and industry best practices, and translate these into actionable guidance for stakeholders.
Prepare and present risk assessments, recommendations, and management updates to senior stakeholders and relevant governance forums.
Work closely with Compliance, Operations, Risk, and Business teams to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of financial crime risk management processes and controls.
Who you are
