nSPH Transition Information
**As Providence Health Care prepares for the opening of the New St. Paul's Hospital, some aspects of this position may evolve during the transition period. While the overall nature of the role is expected to remain substantially the same, operational requirements may result in adjustments to scheduling, FTE, unit assignment, site or other operational details.** Please note: This position is part of a planned Master Rotation transition associated with the opening of the New St. Paul’s Hospital (NSPH). Effective February 22, 2027, the position will transition to 1 FTE and Wednesday-Sunday 7am to 3pm at NSPH.
Summary
JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Leader, Distribution Services or Supervisor, Laundry & Linen this position provides laundry services by performing duties such as collecting, sorting, and distributing laundry and/or linens.
QUALIFICATIONS:EducationGrade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Able to deal with others effectively. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to organize work. Collects, weighs, sorts and records soiled linen and laundry. Delivers soiled laundry to laundry room. Transfers clean linen from clean linen carts to hospital carts according to determined quantities and quotas. . Distributes clean linen and laundry to user areas. Stamps linen with hospital identification label. Cleans and maintains related equipment and designated areas. . Maintains linen and laundry supplies such as mops, tea towels, and clean-up rags for deliver to various areas, by requisitioning supplies, restocking, folding, and packing. Performs other related duties as assigned.
