Job Description:
The Brokerage & Advisory Solutions Group (BSG) is seeking a Business Strategy & Initiatives Executive (can be filled as a BS&I Manager) responsible for driving the adoption, growth, and execution of brokerage solutions within the Private Bank. This role serves as the primary bridge between Merrill, PB Divisions, Markets, Advisors, and operational partners to expand BSG adoption, facilitate business growth, enhance advisor and client engagement, and deliver an exceptional client experience. The leader oversees a team while driving strategic initiatives, business transformation, operational excellence, and scalable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Market Adoption
- Partner with Divisions, Markets, and key stakeholders to drive awareness, adoption, and utilization of brokerage solutions.
- Develop and execute strategies to expand BSG adoption, increase brokerage penetration, and support asset and revenue growth.
- Identify opportunities to deepen client engagement and increase utilization of brokerage, advisory, and capital markets capabilities.
- Evaluate market trends and business opportunities to inform strategic priorities and growth initiatives.
Client Selection & Onboarding Governance
- Evaluate brokerage use cases and client onboarding opportunities to ensure alignment with business objectives, client needs, and risk considerations.
- Provide guidance on client segmentation, solution placement, and complex onboarding scenarios.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to support scalable and compliant growth.
Issue Resolution & Stakeholder Leadership
- Serve as the senior point of contact for escalations from advisors, Market Leaders, Division Leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Partner across Merrill and support organizations to resolve issues, improve outcomes, and identify recurring themes.
- Represent BSG in leadership forums, strategic planning discussions, and cross-functional initiatives.
Business Transformation & Operational Excellence
- Lead efforts to simplify processes, improve operational performance, and enhance the client and advisor experience.
- Drive strategic initiatives, operating model enhancements, and platform evolution from concept through adoption.
- Utilize data, metrics, and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Partner on the development of market dashboards, executive reporting, and performance measures to drive business results.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals focused on delivering high-quality support and solutions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and client focus.
- Align team priorities with business objectives while supporting talent development and employee engagement.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in wealth management, brokerage, financial services, or a related business leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of brokerage products, platforms, onboarding processes, and regulatory considerations.
- Proven ability to drive business growth through advisor adoption, stakeholder engagement, and solution implementation.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders across PB Divisions, Markets, Merrill, and support organizations.
- Strong understanding of client onboarding, client segmentation, and complex use-case evaluation.
- Experience managing escalations and resolving complex client, advisor, or operational issues.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Track record of improving processes, simplifying workflows, and driving operational efficiencies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and metrics to identify opportunities and measure success.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to balance business growth objectives, risk management requirements, and client experience expectations.
- Client-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering a seamless and positive client experience.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, make sound decisions, and drive results through change.
